20 Best 'Glee' Prom Songs: 2010 Prom Songs for Gleeks

Here’s a great way to end your Senior year with a bang, Gleeks; hijack your 2010 prom with a playlist loaded with ‘Glee’ prom songs! From songs perfect for the obligatory prom slow dances to a wide variety of upbeat dance tunes, the songs from ‘Glee’ will make your 2010 prom an unforgettable one. So plan out a few perfect dance numbers to rule the school on the dance floor at your 2010 prom, and be sure to sing along to these great ‘Glee’ songs:

‘Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey – When it comes to songs from ‘Glee’, you can’t leave this one off your 2010 prom playlist! It makes a great teen anthem since it’s about holding on to your dreams, and it’s one everyone can sing along to at your 2010 prom. It may not be one of the best ‘Glee’ dance songs, but maybe it would be perfect for playing along with a cheesy prom slideshow.

‘Gold Digger’ by Kanye West – And here’s one of the best dance songs from ‘Glee’ to play at your 2010 prom for all the girls out there who are aspiring gold diggers. (Perhaps you can play it while the Prom Queen is being crowned?) It’s also one of the prom songs here that your chaperones may not appreciate, which makes it an even more fun ‘Glee’-ful choice.

‘Push It’ by Salt-n-Pepa – I love that ‘Glee’ is bringing back some of my favorite old school dance songs! Take a history lesson from the princesses of hip-hop with one of the best fun and fierce ‘Glee’ songs for your 2010 prom, and be sure to rehydrate with plenty of punch after this spicy tune makes you work up a sweat.

‘Take a Bow’ by Rihanna – And here’s one of the best 2010 prom songs from ‘Glee’ for dedicating to your ex, telling him to take a bow and step away from the dance floor. It’s not one of the most ‘Glee’-ful prom songs for 2010 on this list, but it is perfect for a jealousy-inducing slow dance.

‘Bust a Move’ by Young DMC – Here’s another of the best old school dance songs brought to you by ‘Glee’ and Young DMC, a classy tune that tells the fellas at your 2010 prom to quit being wallflowers and try to impress the ladies by bustin’ a move. When it comes to dance songs from ‘Glee’ perfect for playing at prom, they don’t get better than this hip hop classic.

‘Bootylicious’ by Destiny’s Child – If you’re feeling good in your prom dress, then this might be one of the best 2010 prom dance songs from ‘Glee’ for you. It’s pre-Sasha Fierce, so it lacks the edge of Beyonce’s later hits, but I think you and your Gleeky single ladies can handle it on the dance floor.

‘True Colors’ by Cyndi Lauper – This is definitely one of the sweetest songs from ‘Glee’ for your 2010 prom, and one that encourages everyone to let their true colors shine before they leave their high school world behind. It’s another of the many ‘Glee’ songs perfect for a slow dance to; just remember to enjoy your prom by being you.

‘Crazy in Love’ by Beyonce/’Hair’ from the musical – And here’s one of Beyonce’s earlier songs that she danced by herself to, and one that you’ll love getting crazy to out on the dance floor at your 2010 prom. Just be sure to combine your best ‘Glee’ and Beyonce moves to rule the dance floor when you go crazy to this new classic.

‘Don’t Make Me Over’ by Dionne Warwick – This is one of the older songs from ‘Glee’, but Gleeks will love slow dancing to the updated version of it at their 2010 prom. It’s also one of the best songs to play at your 2010 prom for convincing everyone to spend the rest of their high school days enjoying being themselves (after the pre-prom makeover, of course).

‘Mercy’ by Duffy – This is one of the ‘Glee’ songs that not everyone will know how to dance to at your 2010 prom, but you and your fellow Gleeks may be able to do quite a number with this one.

‘Can’t Fight this Feeling’ by REO Speedwagon – Here’s another of my favorite songs from ‘Glee’ to play at your 2010 prom for a slow dance. It’s a rock ballad full of romance, so at your 2010 prom, don’t fight that feeling anymore and get out on the dance floor.

‘Alone’ by Heart – This is one of the best 2010 prom songs for those trying to figure out how to get that special someone alone to tell them how they really feel before prom night is over. So if you want to feel a little giddy ‘Glee’ before the end of night, get the tough stuff out of the way by asking them to dance to this or one of the other slow dance songs on this list, and then move on to some happier songs to make your special prom night an emotional one to remember.

‘It’s My Life’ by Bon Jovi/’Confessions Part II’ by Usher – Usher in the end of your prom by celebrating the fact that you’ll soon to be free to do what you want with your life. This is another of the ‘Glee’ songs here that could be difficult to dance to, but nothing is wrong with a little headbanging at your 2010 prom.

‘Bust Your Windows’ by Jazmine Sullivan – Want to try to tango at your 2010 prom? With a bit of a sensual flare, this song is one of the best to try the show-stopping dance style to. It’s one of my favorite songs from ‘Glee’, but, of course, I’m not encouraging window busting on prom night.

‘No Air’ by Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown – This is one of the best 2010 prom dance songs to dedicate to that special girl or guy that leaves you breathless. And, as an added plus, if you play the ‘Glee’ version at prom, you don’t have to listen to Chris Brown sing this too-sweet-for-Beat-Her-Down song.

‘Endless Love’ by Lionel Richie and Diana Ross – Okay, so endless love is a pretty hardcore emotion for high school, but those into immortal vamps and ‘Glee’ can appreciate this eternal tune. It’s one of the best slow dance songs for dedicating to your guy or girl at your 2010 prom, and it’s always possible that you and your high school sweetheart could find endless love.

‘I’ll Stand by You’ by The Pretenders – Ah, thank you ‘Glee’ for taking one of the cheesiest songs of all time and making it fun. This is one of the best songs for a 2010 prom because it can apply to all your friends, letting your fellow Gleeks know that you’ll always be there to cheer them up with an extravagant song and dance number.

‘Thong Song’ by Sisqo – Here’s another of the songs from ‘Glee’ that the chaperones at your 2010 prom may not appreciate, but this ode to underwear is all in fun (and the ‘Glee’ version cuts out all the naughty bits).

‘Hate on Me’ by Jill Scott – ‘Hate on Me’ is another of the songs from ‘Glee’ that I love, and it’s a very empowering song to dance to. So “be who you be” and show those haters what you and your fellow Gleeks got on the dance floor at your 2010 prom.

Keep Holding On by Avril Lavigne – This isn’t one of my favorite songs, but I’m impressed that the ‘Glee’ cast made an Avril song tolerable. Plus it is another great song to share with your friends, as you hold onto to your last high school moments after your 2010 prom.

So get ready to Gleek out at your 2010 prom with these great ‘Glee’ songs, and really make those last dances ones to remember.

2 Ways to Profit from Your Own Blog

For personal blogs, one of the simplest and easiest ways for you to begin blogging for profit is to use one of the new web platforms. The reason for this is that they will not only host your personal blog, but you will also be part of a larger community of bloggers. Many of these blogging sites also offer you the ability to change your themes easily and to add different applications that will enhance your blogging experience. When you get your blog content to a standard that creates a lot of traffic, then you can consider the possibility of making money with blog content.

Here are a few ideas on how to make Google’s Adsense a useful tool to make money from your blog. The first thing not to do is put the Adsense block at the top of your post, unless you want your traffic to leave immediately or you have no interest in whether they read your blog or not. However, if your content is intended to draw in numerous readers, then it is important to place the Adsense block at the end of your post. In this way, even if your targeted website traffic does not use your content to make you money, then you at least have a chance for a cash payback if they click on relevant ads from Adsense.

Don’t forget that it is common for affiliate products and programs to offer from fifty percent to seventy five percent commissions. If you want to be blogging for profit, then look through affiliate products closely to find those selling for thirty dollars or more. Also try to find the highest commission payouts. If you are getting two hundred targeted website traffic visitors each day, and two percent convert on a thirty dollar product with a fifty percent commission, then this means you will make sixty dollars per day, which is eighteen hundred dollars per month from a relatively low traffic count. The potential of making money online with blog entries is incredible. Not only that, but your income will continue to grow as you bring in more and more targeted website traffic.

Both affiliate sales and Adsense represent very simple and basic ways to convert your blog writing into cash. If you are blogging for profit, then they are where you need to turn. It is also the method of professional internet marketers. If you start using them effectively, you too will see your blog make money.

It should seem self-evident, but when you start a blog, you need to blog about what you know. For those just starting out, one of the biggest mistakes you can make in this type of industry is to blog about topics about which you have no knowledge or have absolutely no interest in. It is ideal to blog about what you know about, and doing so will help to ensure that your blogging articles or reviews are bringing more and more traffic to your site. It also helps to keep people coming back if you are writing informative articles and are enthusiastic. If you want to blog for money, then these are a couple of tips you need to know.

After you set up your blog, you need to get massive blog traffic coming in. During this step, you should post to your blog several times a week with relevant content and then use a pinging service to ping each individual post. The site automatically pings every post, though does not. By posting as much as possible and pinging on a regular basis, you will soon begin to see traffic pick up, which makes your goal to blog for money that much easier to reach.

As you can see, blogging for profit can be quite simple and easy. The most difficult part of the process is just getting the blog setup and running smoothly. Once you are past that step, making money is as simple as posting content to your blog. If you post consistently, then you will eventually get more traffic, and the more traffic you get to your site, the more money you will make. It is just something that may take a little time to get started. In the end, a blog for money is a fabulous way to set your own hours, work from home and earn money while engaging in a stimulating activity.

2 ‘Secrets’ Every Job-Hunter Should Know

You have a resume since you’re looking for a job, right? And you shaved this morning and have your best smile on? Join the club because so does your competition. Either way, those are just pleasantries to get you in the door. To actually land the gig you need to meet one of two requirements-and not all of you do.

Ultimately, there are only two reasons to hire someone:

  • · Because they’ll make the company money, or
  • · They’ll make a moneymaker’s job easier.

That’s it, just those.

So what does all this mean for you? Well first off, you need to know which role you’re meant to fill. When you’ve got that figured out, understand what the boss expects from the person he hires.

  • · Moneymakers: If I’m going to put you on the payroll, I want to know you’re good at what you do. Can you program correctly, or install the door the right way? Re-doing work will cost us money and time. Mistakes cost us customers and money. Can you keep our clients happy? Salesmen: Can you sell? If we’ve got to wait three months for you to find your feet we’d rather go with someone else. Are you experienced; with a record of results? That’s what I’m looking for. Show me in everything you say and do that when I hire you my company will make more money.
  • · Assistants: You’ll be helping someone who makes us money. Every minute he spends looking up figures, or writing reports, or getting coffee he isn’t being the right kind of productive. Can you do those tasks to free up his time? Can you do them efficiently? Most importantly, can you do them before we ask you to? That’s what I’m looking for. This group includes secretaries, managers, and CEO’s.

So spend a minute and think back to your last interview. Remember the questions they asked and the answers you gave. Do you see how the point was to see if you could fill your role? Did you emphasize your ability to do it?

But this ‘secret’ isn’t some video game cheat where once you learn the combination you’ll get a job; a skilled interviewer can tell if you’re faking it. If you haven’t the skill or desire to fit one of the two roles, you’ve got a tough row to hoe.

Most often it takes deciding that you WANT to help the company; then striving to make it happen. If you only want to collect a paycheck and skate by, you may get a job but you won’t be happy-and you won’t keep it. This time next year you’ll be interviewing again.

Understand your role. And if you’re qualified, be sure that the way you present yourself reflects the person we’re looking for: A happy and willing partner who’s an asset to our company.

The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allen Poe – You will find no witches, warlocks, or demons in this book, yet you will find nowhere as much terror and suspense as this story can bring. The conscience can be more powerful than any force in all the worlds. See how one man’s horrific act is his downfall.

The Swiss Family Robinson by Johann D. Wyss – A voyage to a new land gives one family more than they bargained for. Go with a family shipwrecked on a deserted island where they find new friends in man and beast and have a few run ins with dastardly pirates. What starts off as tragedy turns into a wonderland.

The Diary of Anne Frank by Anne Frank – Most of us do not know what it is like to have one little bitty noise be the reason for our death. Read the own words of a young Jewish girl who has to hide with family and friends so that the Nazi’s do not kill them. Hiding behind walls and being more quiet than a mouse is the only way to survive. If they can do it.

Watership Down by Richard Adams – Talking rabbits? You’ve seen stranger things. Meet the family of rabbits threatened by development. But you will also see that threats do not always occur where you think they should.

Timeline by Michael Crichton – Here is the most contemporary of books in this list. What if you could travel back in time to historic moments? What if that very act changed every step you make right now? Meet archeologists who are uncovering an historic battle. As they are removing the dirt, the very items under the dirt are changing as men of today are going back and tampering with history. Action packed you will find this book and not want to put it down once you start. Not even the movie could do it justice.

Mutiny on the Bounty by Charles Nordhoff and James Norman Hall – Things do not always go smooth at sea especially when your crew decides they do not want you as captain. With claims of cruelty, the crew takes over the Bounty and have to face the music.

Black Beauty by Anna Sewell – Who doesn’t love a horse story? Read this one and discover how a horse can steal your heart. Even that of a teenager.

This is just a short list of the many books that your young person should read and experience. There is so much adventure within these pages to put Hollywood to shame. Open a book and enjoy the ride.

20 Facts About Asperger's Syndrome in Children

Understanding the implications of Asperger’s Syndrome can bring a greater level of tolerance and acceptance for those with the condition. Here are some traits and behavior patterns commonly seen in the syndrome.

  • Most people with Asperger’s Syndrome are of average or above average intelligence.
  • They have excellent thinking skills where things are concerned but are extremely poor at interpreting human relationships.
  • Intense preoccupations often centre on certain toys or areas of interest. Common obsessions are dinosaurs and forms of transport and how they work.
  • They will often seek out other people to talk to about their interests. The conversation is usually one-sided – more like a lecture where they talk about their knowledge and aren’t interested in feedback.
  • Older children may enjoy a club that is focused on their interest – for example, coin or stamp collecting.
  • Eye contact is not understood or made use of.
  • The child may appear cold and uncaring but it is not deliberate. He does not think about others and cannot understand the social graces that keep society functioning.
  • It is possible to teach social skills but it is a long slow process and often requires parental intervention to repair social damage when they act inappropriately.
  • Short stories can be useful in teaching social skills. Use one page visual aids that teach about listening to others and keeping quiet and still while they talk.
  • Children with Asperger’s Syndrome prefer routine and structure and can become irritable and distressed if the unexpected happens.
  • Gross and fine motor skills are often underdeveloped, causing problems in sports and balance.
  • Asperger’s Syndrome is often detected when a child starts preschool. He will generally interact better with his teacher than his peers and may display silly, loud, aggressive or socially withdrawn behaviour.
  • Things are interpreted very literally, meaning that sarcasm, playful teasing and figures of speech are not understood.
  • Rules are very important and a child may become angry if a game is not played fairly or his peers break school rules.
  • On a positive note, this aversion to rule-breaking means the Asperger’s Syndrome child is less likely to experiment with smoking, drinking, drugs, and sex as he matures.
  • Many children are perfectionists and struggle if they fail to produce perfect schoolwork. Encourage them to move on, and create distractions if necessary to get them to continue working.
  • They find it hard to generalize. If taught that they shouldn’t hit a child at school, they do not automatically make the connection that they shouldn’t hit a child in the mall.
  • Children with Asperger’s Syndrome express their feelings in unpredictable ways. Sometimes they may seem emotionless and other times they may display extreme emotion that is not appropriate to the situation.
  • Interrupting conversations is a common problem as the child does not understand the social signals that allow conversation to move from one to another.
  • A child can be helped if parents consistently work with him and highlight his strengths and work consistently on his weaknesses

There is hope for children who have Asperger’s Syndrome and with training and support from their family and health professionals, they can live meaningful, productive lives.

20 Bible Verses About the Poor (Or is it More About Us?)

The Bible maintains a clear position on the poor throughout its pages, and, interestingly, it has less to do with them than it has to do with us. While many “believers” continue to employ excuses or reasons that attempt to justify not giving to the less fortunate, there’s no escaping the prescription that God gives to this societal injustice; we need to help them. Rather than incessantly questioning how a good God could possibly allow poor individuals to continue in poverty, why don’t we take it upon ourselves and help in whatever way we can? Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”

20 Celebrity Divorces and Breakups of 2010: All the Single Ladies!

2010 has been a big year for celebrity divorces and breakups! Here’s a look at 20 of the sexiest female celebrities that became single again in 2010:

Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock may have gone through one of the biggest divorces of 2010, but that didn’t stop this sexy single lady from quickly introducing the world to a new man in her life: adorable adopted son baby Louis.

Olivia Munn

Olivia Munn’s ability to look great in Leia’s metal bikini and Chris Pine starring in “Star Trek” made them one of the sexiest but geekiest couples of 2010. However, their sci-fi connection couldn’t help make them last, and they ended their relationship quietly in January (but you can bet this was one of the breakups of the year that many guys and gals were secretly excited about).

Kate Winslet

One of the sexiest actresses in Hollywood has always made headlines for her love of shedding her clothes, but in 2010 she got attention for shedding her hubby, director Sam Mendes. They may have been part of one of the biggest celebrity divorces of the year, but at least they’ll always have “Revolutionary Road”, the movie that reunited Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio for a new steamy sex scene.

Jennifer Love Hewitt

One of the breakups of 2010 that many have been predicting since its start finally happened when Jennifer Love Hewitt and comedian Jamie Kennedy called it quits, and poor Jennifer Love Hewitt suffered another blow not long afterward when her relationship with “The Ghost Whisperer” was canceled. However, Jennifer Love Hewitt’s year wasn’t all bad; she did rebound by starring in one of the sexiest Lifetime movies ever, “The Client List”.

Kim Kardashian

She definitely wins the award for the most breakups in 2010, calling it quits with Reggie Bush in March; ditching another NFL star, Dallas Cowboy Miles Austin, in September; and recently kicking Halle Berry’s ex, Gabriel Aubry, to the curb. But guys better not get too excited about their prospects with the reality show star; she’s already moved on to NBA player Kris Humphries.

Halle Berry

Gabriel Aubry was quite the lucky guy in 2010, getting to date two of Hollywood’s sexiest celebrity women with killer curves, but he also went through two of the year’s biggest celebrity breakups. Unfortunately, his and Halle Berry’s adorable two-year-old daughter Nahla got caught in the middle of this one (but at least she got a good set of genes out of the deal).

Jenny McCarthy

One of the sexiest and silliest celebrity couples announced one of the biggest breakups of 2010 in a very modern way: through Twitter! After five years as a part of one Hollywood’s happiest couples, it was sad to see Jenny McCarthy split from funnyman Jim Carrey, but at least the couple did provide their fans with some great Twittertainment as they called it quits.

Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato suffered one of the hardest celebrity breakups of 2010 on the teen scene when she and Joe Jonas called it quits, because she continued to tour with the Jonas Brothers after the breakup. Her year continued to get worse as Joe Jonas moved on with Ashley Greene, and a fight with a dancer from the tour eventually led to Demi Lovato checking into a rehab treatment facility. But perhaps with some good New Year’s resolutions, the “Camp Rock” star can put her rocky end to 2010 behind her.

Rachel Bilson

2010 was certainly a bad year for celebrity breakups involving adorable, superstar couples. This star of “The O.C.” was engaged to her “Jumper” costar (and dashing Darth Vader) Hayden Christensen, but apparently too much time away from one another led to the end of the ultra-cute couple (but, like most couples here, they managed to avoid getting into any “star wars” after the split).

Christina Milian

Christina Milian might seem like a dream girl to a lot of guys, but her breakup with The-Dream was a real nightmare; he filed for divorce just nine days before she gave birth to their only child in February.

Elisabeth Moss

This star of “Mad Men” will have plenty of time to drive more men mad, thanks to another of the biggest celebrity divorces of 2010. They say a rolling stone gathers no Moss, so it looks like SNL star Fred Armisen will just keep tumbling right along.

Courteney Cox

This “Cougar Town” resident’s separation from David Arquette seemed to give him a case of relationship Tourette’s. He went on the Howard Stern show to blab about his sex life with Courteney Cox, something that surely left his “Scream” costar wanting to scream at him. David Arquette definitely proved he’s got some growing up to do, but, in the meantime, the couple also has to worry about helping cute daughter Coco grow up, too.

Christina Aguilera

This “Burlesque” babe filed for divorce from Jordan Bratman back in October in another of the biggest divorces of 2010. However, hers hasn’t gone as smoothly as some. Since her ex won’t move out of the house, it hasn’t been easy for this genie to live the unbottled life (and you can bet this awkward arrangement is rubbing her the wrong way).

Blake Lively

This “Gossip Girl” star created a bit of gossip herself with one of the biggest celebrity breakups of 2010 when she and costar Penn Badgely called it quits. But it looks like one of Hollywood’s sexiest young starlets is having no problem moving on, keeping busy alongside Ryan Reynolds in “Green Lantern” and possibly getting over the single gal blues by dating “Blue Valentine” star Ryan Gosling.

Scarlett Johansson

Speaking of some of the sexiest Ryans in Hollywood, Ryan Reynolds and his voluptuous vixen of a wife recently called it quits. There have been whispers that blonde bombshell Blake Lively had something to do with this bombshell news, but it’s hard not to hope that wholesome, honey-haired Ryan Reynolds and his wifey just simply grew apart due to their hectic Hollywood lives.

Eva Longoria

And here’s another lovely lady who was a part of one of Hollywood’s couples that seemed built to last. Of course the Eva Longoria and Tony Park celebrity split was one of the biggest of 2010, but there is a glimmer of hope for Parkoria fans; the couple has been spotted eating and chatting together on multiple occasions since both parties filed their divorce papers, possibly a sign that they might try to work things out.

Vanessa Hudgens

Those that root for young love to triumph suffered quite the heartbreak when Vanessa Hudgens and her “High School Musical” costar Zac Efron recently finally called it quits. Since they’ve been an item basically since they became famous, this is one of the celebrity breakups of 2010 that’s going to get a lot of attention as everyone waits to see who Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens choose to rebound with.

Elizabeth Hurley

This shagadelic babe is apparently in quite the rush to divorce Arun Nayar amidst allegations that she cheated on him (Austin Powers may be a swinger, but I don’t think he’d approve of his favorite fembot’s actions).

Rachel Weisz

While it’s sad to see yet another of the biggest celebrity divorces of 2010 land on this list, you can bet plenty of guys are glad to see a single Rachel Weisz. And while a breakup is always tough, Darren Aronofsky has two new brunette babes helping him stay busy this year at premiere after premiere in his “Black Swan” darlings Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis.

AnnaLynne McCord

She was part of a couple that definitely seemed to represent a bit of a culture clash, as AnnaLynne McCord starred on the hip and hot show “90210” while Kellan Lutz found himself in cooler, darker surroundings in the “Twilight” movies. But despite their differences, these babes with blonde hair certainly made a pretty pair, so it’s a shame to see them call it quits (although I’m sure more than a few “Twilight” fans would beg to differ).

So on the sad side of things, 2010 has been a big year for celebrity breakups and divorces. But on the bright side, that means more sexy single ladies and hot hunks are up for grabs next year (might as well dream big with those New Year’s resolutions, after all).

20 Christmas Songs to Entertain, Shock, and Soothe

The end of the year, made cold with the white snow, leads me to think about endings: faded love, deceased family members and deities, moments that have touched my life and moved me from one phase to another.

On the cusp of the New Year, Christmas also ignites a sense of new beginnings, surreal happiness, warmth, faith, and the desire to make a better tomorrow.

These songs, varied as they are, explore the full spectrum of all those holiday emotions. .

1. “I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday.” by Wizzard.
The chipper, carefree sing-songiness of this ditty just makes me happy. Easy to sing-along to. Reminds me of the glee of childhood anticipation.

2. “Another Lonely Christmas” by Prince
The pendulum swings now from glee to melancholy with this gem by Prince who sings about losing the woman he loved one Christmas. Everytime the holiday returns, he gets drunk on daiquiris and remembers her. Is that touching or what?

Christmas is after all about the swell of all shades of emotion.

It’s also, about charity and wanting to change the world. Which brings me to the next two songs, the first of which is non-traditional:

3. “Man in the Mirror” by Michael Jackson.
This song always makes me pause, think, and recommit myself to doing something good for society.
The clincher lyric is when he says “As I turn up the collar on my FAVORITE winter coat, this wind is blowing my mind. I see the kids on the street without enough to eat. Who am I to be blind? Pretending not to see their need?”

The contrast of social imagery is moving. He gets to wear a favorite coat — indicating he has abundance and yet the kids have nothing. This is one of the best songs ever penned by this musical genius.

4. “Do They Know It’s Christmas Time At All?” by a mob of celebrity musicians.
OK. It’s pandering sure. But’s it’s Boy George! It’s Phil Collins! George Michael!!!! Did the 80s really have to end. On a serious note, it’s effective, catchy and reminds us that Christmas is about others not just presents for self.

5. ‘White Christmas” by Otis Redding
C’mon. This is the voice that gave us “Sitting on the Dock of the Bay.” He brings out the emotion in this beautiful classic song.

6. “Merry Christmas Everybody” by Slade
Nothing like a little eccentric rock to go with the egg nog.

7. “What Do the Lonely Do at Christmas.” by The Emotions
For all the singles struggling to enjoy the holidays solo, this one’s for you.

8. “Christmas Time is Here” by Vince Guaraldi
You know, the Peanuts Guy! Anything that revives memories of Charlie Brown, Lucy, and Linus is great for me.

9. “Santa Clause Go straight to the Ghetto” by Snopp Dogg.
In this song, rather than rappers caring about women and chains, they take time to think about, in their words, the “homeless and bums” and the “needy greedies.” It’s a refreshing change. It will shock your guests and add a little edgy fun.

10. “Christmas in Hollis” by Run DMC
While we’re on holiday rap, this song is hilarious. The first rap Christmas song. Cool.

11. “Christmas Blues” by James Brown
The voice of Brown immediately jumps out from the melancholy melody and grabs your heart. If you thought Prince’s ballad over a lost woman brought you to tears, this will bring you to your knees. As you play it, pause to reflect that James Brown actually died on Christmas Day in 2006.

12. “We Wish You The Merriest ” by Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby
Can’t have a music list without the commanding presence of old Blue Eyes.

13. “The Christmas Song” by Nat King Cole
This is classic Americana — yes for “kids from one to 92.”

14. “Silent Night” by Christina Aguilerra.

Christina’s voice floats over the melody with angelic harmony. She adds new energy and nuance to this staple.

15. “When I Hear A Christmas Song” by Dennis DeYoung
The former Styx frontman really captures the entire atmosphere of what it’s like to be revived and renewed this time of year. Yes, Dennis, I wish Christmas would “never end” as well.

16. “God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman” by Loreena McKennitt
For the religious reflection of the season and remembering the Christ, there’s nothing better than the warbles of McKennitt.

17. “Santa Clause Is Coming To Town” – Jackson 5
It’s little Michael Jackson. He could REALLY belt one out. Aww, this never gets old. He makes ME believe in Santa.

18. “Sleigh Ride” by TLC
T-Boz’s voice is unique and amazing. Lisa “Left Eye” is always eccentric. This hip-hop trio spices up what could be a pretty bland song.

19. “My Favorite Things” by The Supremes
It’s the original diva! Diana Ross! Need I say more?

20. “This Christmas” by Donny Hathaway
Now this is a fitting way to end. This is the best Christmas song, bar none. Can you really not sing along when he croons “And we’re caroling through the night! And this Christmas willll beee…!” Yes, a very special Christmas.

Merry Christmas to you and yours and hopefully there’s a song on this varied list for everyone.
