2009 Head2Head Fantasy Football Roster & Explanation: Salary Cap League

Head2Head.com has a very popular salary cap fantasy football league for prizes. I have four teams and here is one of my current preseason roster and explanations behind the picks. The total salary must not exceed $100M so you have to do your best in selecting some sleepers. Good luck this year.

Matt Schaub 16.8 Q Hou
Adrian Petterson 16.2 R Min
LeRon McClain 6.2 R Bal
T.J. Duckett 4.0 R Sea
Andre Johnson 13.1 W Hou
Greg Jennings 9.5 W GB
T.J. Houshmanzadeh 8.2 W Cin
Jeff Reed 6.2 K Pit
Houston 11.8 D Hou
Chad Ocho Cinco 8.0 Flex Cin
Total Salary Used= $100 M

Matt Schaub is set to have a great season in 2009 with plenty of weapons at his disposal. Drew Brees is 20.0M, Manning 19.3, Brady 18.8M. I like Schaub at 16.8 to put up numbers similar to Manning, but at a cheaper price.

Adrian Peterson is very expensive at 16.2, but you almost need him in this league because of his production and the number of other fantasy owners that also own him. Keeping Peterson means that you will have to have some lower valued players on your roster.

LeRon McClain is a great buy at 6.2M. McClain should have plenty of touchdowns and carries as McGahee continues to become injured and his production is slowing. McClain had 900+ yards and 10 touchdowns in 2009. McGahee had only 671 yards rushing and 7 touchdowns while battling injuries last season. McClain is one of the best buys under $7M.

T.J. Duckett is a risky play, but at $4M I’ll take that risk. Duckett has a nose for the end zone and is expected to be used more in ’09. Duckett had 8 TD’s in ’08 and I like him to score 10+ this season. I needed a very cheap RB for my roster, and Duckett was the best option under $5M.

Andre Johnson is possibly the best receiver in the game, up there with Fitzgerald. Johnson had 1575 yards receiving and 8 touchdowns and will have better numbers if you can believe it. Schaub is forming a strong bond with Johnson, and they should hook up on many occasions in 2009.

Greg Jennings is my favorite WR under 10M, even over Steve Smith. Donald Driver is disgruntled and Aaron Rodgers is very comfortable with Jennings. Jennings had 9 touchdowns and 1292 yards.

T.J. Houshmanzadeh is very confident that he will put up pro bowl numbers. He is not only upset about being rated a 91 on the new Madden video game, he expects for himself and Hasselbeck to have career years. It could be all hype but I think Houshmanzadeh will live up to his own hype this year.

I like the Houston D at 11.8 (Steelers 14.5). Houston’s D is a young and improving defense who should have plenty of sacks and interceptions.

My Flex (utility) player is Chad Ocho Cinco. Chad is another risky play, but at only 8M he is worth the risk over other top tier receivers who are over $13M. Chad is discounted due to his antics and his poor performance last year. Chad and Carson Palmer have been working over the off season and appear to have both of their careers back on track.

As far as bye weeks concerned, I like to not pick week 4 bye players, so I can pick them up later after my players have bye’s. Trades are $3 a piece so bye strategy is very important in Head2Head Salary Cap Fantasy Football.

2009 Increase in Female Entertainers

I just wanted to start out by saying that I am guilty of attending gentlemen clubs like all the rest of millions of single or married males in the United States. This article is dedicated to all the female entertainers that work in gentlemen bars across the United States. In this article I will discuss what hard workers these female entertainers are and why in year 2009 there are many women forced to work in these places.

To begin with these women are hard workers just like secretaries or other professionals, they just got put in a position where they have to work hard to pay bills and cost of living. A lot of these women get looked at being wild gentlemen club workers, but they are entirely wrong. A lot of these female entertainers get disrespected while they are working, because they are looked at as being easy. But their job title is to entertain only and some customers think they are suppose to do more than that. A lot of customers will touch more than they can and this really gets these female entertainers very angry and they feel violated. But, the good thing is that these gentlemen clubs have security for protection and the safe being of these female entertainers.

In Beaumont, Texas the city where I am from recently I visited a couple of gentlemen clubs to see what kind of female entertainers they had, and to my surprise the numbers had increased in female entertainers. Because, of the recession many pretty young women in this town are turning to entertainment as a living. The reason for this is because of all the job layoffs all the local companies are doing to their employees especially females that hold secretarial jobs. It’s always good to support these dancers by tipping very generously, because they are there to make a living and entertain.

If any of you readers or fans out there have seen the increase of young women working in gentlemen clubs just let me know in the comment box below, and I will be glad to respond as soon as possible. I don’t want to offend anyone by the writing of this article or the women who are female entertainers across America, I only write to inform. Thanks for reading my article and please stay tuned for more articles in the near future about other topics.

2009 New Hampshire Wildlife Restoration Grants

The Wildlife Restoration Program, which is also known as the Pittman-Roberson Act of 1937, awards grants that fund projects that restore, select, improve and rehabilitate areas of water and land to be utilized for resting, breeding and feeding areas for wildlife species. The funding for these grants comes from an 11% tax on firearms, ammunition, bows, quivers, broadhead arrows and points, 10% tax on handguns, revolvers and pistols and $.43 on arrow shafts plus interest earned on the Wildlife Restoration Fund. This type of funding makes this program one that is used and funded by the same people.

The United States Fish and Wildlife Service is responsible for the administration of the Wildlife Restoration Program grants that are awarded to agencies throughout the nation, such as the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department. In 2009, the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department was awarded one Wildlife Restoration Program grant. The Population Ecology of Bobcats in New Hampshire Grant is $199,332 and extends from November 1, 2008 through June 30, 2013. This grant provides funding for gathering data regarding the habitat and the bobcat population in the state of New Hampshire. This grant also provides funding for gathering other information such as habitat preference including characteristics of the bobcats’ home range and dispersal patterns as they relate to the New Hampshire landscape. This project could prove to be vital to the population of bobcats as their number decrease with each year.

The Wildlife Restoration Program, which is responsible for funding many grants throughout the nation, enables a cycle to be complete, a cycle that begins and ends with the user of the facility that received the grant. These grants are used for many projects that are in place to improve public use, wildlife resource access and wildlife management programs funded by the Wildlife Restoration Program and the funds for this program and the grants funded by it are calculated using an apportionment formula which includes taxes, land area and number of paid license hunters of each state that applies for these funds. These grants are disbursed to the states and insular areas on a reimbursement basis of up to 75% for the states and up to 100% for insular areas of America. 2009 Idaho Fishing License Requirements

In simple, anyone age 14 and older must have a valid fishing license to fish in the waters of Idaho. License types divide out by age (Junior: 14-17, Adult: 18-64, and Senior: 65 and older) and Resident (affordable) versus Non-resident (more expensive). For Residents there are also Disabled Fishing and Military Furlough Licenses. From the Idaho Fish and Game Fishing Seasons and Rules, “A resident is defined as any person who has been domiciled in the state of Idaho, with a bona fide intent to make this his/her place of permanent abode, for a period of not less than six months …”. Everyone else is a Non-Resident (well, except for Active Duty military personnel (and family) permanently stationed in Idaho). For the Non-resident there are 1-Day, 3-Day, and Season licenses available. For the Resident a Lifetime license is also available. License fee information is provided in the Rules cited above. Licenses may be purchased on line (same site) and at many `vendors’. Vendors often also have (free) hard copies of the Rules. And vendors are also happy to provide a lot of gear (not free). Additional permits are required for steelhead and anadromous (sea-run) salmon. And a Resident may also buy a Sportsman’s Package. The Sportsman’s Package is a wonderful deal, as it provides (in one purchase) both hunting and fishing licenses, various big game tags, archery and muzzleloader permits, and the salmon and steelhead permits. (Yum.)

Now for some exceptions. Licenses are not required for private fish ponds (small, private ponds as defined and permitted by the Idaho Fish and Game Department). Resident youth under the age of 14 may fish without a license and have their own catch limit. Non-resident youth (under 14) may fish without a license in Idaho provided he/she is in the presence of a valid license holder and his/her (the youth’s) catch is included in the license holder’s.

Oh, one more thing; June 13, 2009 is a “Free Fishing Day” in Idaho. No fishing license required!

2009 International Festival in Spartanburg, S C

This year, on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, from 11AM-6PM, Spartanburg, SC will hold its annual International Festival. I can personally recommend this event. I’ve attended most of them since the inception of the festival in 1986. It’s a great way to celebrate the beginning of the fall season! The goal of the International Festival is to celebrate Spartanburg’s diverse multicultural community. The festival will have 30 nations represented. It is an opportunity to sample cultures and foods from around the world as well as an educational experience for children.

This event is held at Barnet Park in downtown Spartanburg, SC. Barnet Park is a beautiful venue for this event. Admission and parking is free for the festival. However, you will need cash or credit card for food, and items you choose to purchase. Visit the Barnet Park link to find driving directions and map of the park.

Africa will be the host Continent at this year’s festival. There will be various activities for every age. Below is a brief review of these activities/booths at the festival.

Avenue of Nations-is a path where you walk and visit a booth or tent of each country represented.

Each country’s booth will have various types of information, items, etc….you can view and/or read about that country’s culture and way of life. Many have informational brochures you can take with you. Each booth has a person there who is authentic to that particular country to answer any questions you have. They can give you some invaluable information about their culture. This is a great educational opportunity for children and adults alike.

Boulevard of Food– is my favorite part of the festival. Here, you can sample different flavors from around the world. I especially love the Greek food and the pastries. The homemade baklava is heavenly. I could spend the whole day strolling down the Boulevard of Food. I highly recommend it.

Three Festival Stages-where authentic music and dance that spans the globe is taking place all day. This is an enjoyable time. Some of the performers even offer dance lessons on the spot. For instance, I participated in learning to do some Salsa steps at one of the Festivals. I wasn’t too good at it, but I had a lot of fun trying!

There will be a Parade of Nations where representatives from each country represented will line up and parade through the park in their traditional garb. You will see African drummers, bagpipers, dancers in colorful costumes and more. This event is very interesting and fun.

Global Sports Zone- is setup so everyone can see demonstrations of sports from around the world. In the past, they have had certain sports that the kids can participate in.

International Kids Zone- will have free craft projects for the kids to make and take with them as souvenirs from each country. The kids will have adult supervision during the craft sessions.

International Trade Zone- offers authentic items for purchase from each country. You can find an eclectic mix of unique gifts. It’s not too early to do some Christmas shopping while you’re here.

You can find unique gifts that you couldn’t find anywhere else. Take advantage of this while it’s available.

This event is sponsored by Coca Cola, Budweiser, Sew-Euro drive Partnership, and the Chapman Cultural Center.

Please make plans to spend the day at the Festival on Oct. 3, if you’re visiting Spartanburg, SC or if you live here. You won’t regret it. You’ll learn a lot and have fun at the same time.

Visit Annual Festivals in Spartanburg, SC for a link directly to the International Festival which will have a full entertainment schedule closer to Oct. 3rd.

2009 Honda Rebel 250: When it Pays to Own a Motorcycle

I shake my head back and forth as we drive past a two-wheeled, roadside shrine dedicated to the wild life. A mechanical creature once brought to life in search of the open road and good times, now lies idle. It’s V-twin powerplant stands caged by a falling economy and its handlebars are collared by a “4-sale” sign.

I know what my wife is thinking even before she says, “We can’t afford it. Don’t even think about it.”

However, she agrees to let me purchase a motorcycle as long as it saves us money. And that’s why I considered a 2009 Honda Rebel motorcycle.

Enjoying wind in your hair in a falling economy

While more and more large-displacement motorcycle s are collecting roadside dust while their owners attempt to sell them to shake off a $400-a-month payments, many riders have turned to smaller-displacement motorcycle s with credit-card prices. These bikers will gladly trade off cubic inches of displacement for lower fuel costs and a less-expensive bike so they can enjoy the thrill of riding.

Remember, it’s better to hear, “Why aren’t you riding your bike to work to save gas?” than to shrug your shoulders at a screaming wild woman as she demands, “Have you sold that damn thing yet?”

25-year History

The Honda Rebel motorcycle began its life in 1985 as an inexpensive offering to appear to first-time riders, college students and female riders. However in recent years, more and more city riders and commuters have put a leg over the 2009 Honda Rebel motorcycle because of its tremendous fuel economy, reliability and low cost of maintenance.

Fuel Economy

This is where the 2009 Honda Rebel motorcycle shines. The sporty little bike averages about 65-70 miles per gallon, depending on your driving habits. For me, a 40-mile round trip back an forth to work on the Rebel requires less than a half a gallon of gasoline a day. My gasoline-thirsty pickup truck, a requirement when you live deep in the back woods of the New Jersey Pine Barrens, chugs down about 2.5 gallons of the Middle East’s finest during the same journey. At $3 a gallon of gas, I save $6 a day, $30 a week or $1,500 a year on the Honda Rebel. Wow, saving money and riding a motorcycle is like getting paid to…well…eat. I like eating a lot a lot also.

The 2009 Honda Rebel motorcycle sports a 2.6-mile fuel tank so you’ll be able to go about 150 miles before you need a fill-up.

Power

The 2009 Honda Rebel motorcycle is powered by the same air-cooled, 234 CC parallel twin motor that first moved the bike back in the middle 1980s. This means the kinks have been worked out of the motor long ago and riders are able to enjoy years of service out of their Honda Rebel. According to Motorcycle Cruiser Magazine, the 2009 Honda Rebel motorcycle is capable of reaching 80 mph. And that’s fast enough for my trip to work, my journey to the local watering hole, and the weekly charity ride.

Looks

The Honda Rebel has classic Harley-Davidson-inspired looks that turn heads where ever you ride. From the swooping handlebars, to the teardrop gas tank and to the Sportster-inspired rear fender and chrome-covered rear shock absorbers, this bike looks like it belongs on the same road as any offering from Milwaukee, Wisc., does.

Size

The 2009 Honda Rebel motorcycle is no two-wheeled weakling either. The 331-pound bike has a 57-inch wheelbase which is long enough to keep you on a the straight and narrow while you motor down the highway. And it’s long enough to survive a feisty side wind or a gust of wind thrown off a passing tractor-trailer truck. The seat height is 26.6 inches so its tall enough for the average rider but low enough for those of us who are 5-foot-7 or shorter.

Pricing

Pricing for the 2009 Honda Rebel motorcycle is $3,999 plus freight, tax and dealer setup but the gasoline savings are endless.
