3 Atlanta Honda Dealerships

Choosing the right car dealer is almost more important than choosing the right car. As far as the right car, it’s hard to beat a Honda for the price. I’ve heard many a dealer say, that if you change the oil and keep up on maintence, these cars will easily go a hundred thousand miles. That’s pretty impressive. Not only that, but they look good and have great gas milage, as well as hybrids for the environmentaly conscience.

The city of Atlanta is full of car dealers, some family owned and operated, and others run by large public corporations. Depending upon the buyer, you may like to actually be treated like family, or you might enjoy the anynimoty of a chain store. There really aren’t any stores within the city limits, but the vast majority are right outside the perimeter with easy access from the highway.

Ed Voyles Honda is the closest to the city itself, and is the flagship store of the Ed Voyles company. It has a clean, modern feel and is well lit with natural light, which can be very important. It also boasts one of the largest body shops in the world. The salesmen are low pressure, they want to make a sale, but only to someone who wants to buy. This store is also one of the places in Atlanta to view real vintage posters. From cars, to planes, and travel, this store is a vertitable gallery. Shoppers can also chill on plush sofas and watch tv as they eat free popcorn and enjoy complimentary cold bottled water. This dealership has been family run since the beginning and is currently run by a second generation dealer. I’ve had four cars from the Ed Voyles family, and couldn’t be happier.

Another great store is Honda Carland. Aside from their annoying jingle, it really is a decent store, and does great in the volume department. This store isn’t open as late as others, but it does have good service hours. The drawback to this store is its distance from the city. This store caters mostly to the suburbs of Atlanta. The staff is friendly and not overly pushy. The building isn’t that spacious though and has the steryo-typical car dealer vibe. This store has however, earned the President’s Award for customer satisfaction.

Last but not least, is Team Honda. This store is one of those number driven store where the “team” has a high percentage of overturn. The hours are the same as everyone elses, and there just isn’t really anything that makes this store stand out as opposed to other stores.

All in all, it depends on what is the best match for you. Know though, that dealers really don’t have it out for you, and trying to make them undercut each other is tacky and not appreciated. For the most part it is the customers that give the business a bad name. No one at these stores is out to get you, remember that.

3 Baby-Steps to Starting Your Own Business

1. Keep it service-based and simplistic.

I was recently told by someone that their new invention was going to be global; it was going to be the next big thing. Then, I asked him about production, warehousing, distribution and patent because if it got as big as he was boasting, someone would have ripped it off half-way through.

When starting a business, you don’t have to reinvent the wheel. You must make it as simplistic as possible. This means staying away from government-regulated industries or not starting a product based company where you will find your margins getting hit by manufacturing costs.

2. Find a niche area.

You can’t be everything to everyone. 99.5 percent of business owners don’t want to do the work it takes to fully market themselves and their website. When I started KAS, I did sales, marketing and technology (IT) recruiting. The problem was that I didn’t have enough time to learn all three and I knew I was lacking in the IT space. It was too much to learn.

Keep your new business niche. Keep it as niche as possible. Think of it like getting a haircut. Start with a broad industry and make a crewcut out of the idea. The more niche your business is, the easier it is for you to learn and for you to compete. At first, my niche was all I had to differentiate both myself and my firm from the bulk of the companies in the industry.

3. Learn how to market your company.

As an entrepreneur running a new company, you must provide some allure to the client that others do not have. One of the only ways to do this is via an informative, neatly programmed and personalized website. Let the potential clients know with whom they are doing business. This means getting professional head shots, but they are well worth the expense.

Next to your head shots, you should have a short bio of yourself and any employees at your company. It is a great way to brand your firm the way you wish as well. Be prepared to wade through many websites looking for styles of photos you like before you find a photographer you like and whom you feel you can do business with. Next, begin writing articles for various trade publications and online article sites. Upon getting an article posted, most sites will allow you put links back to your website with keywords optimized for the search engines.

To be approved, you must fill out some applications and contact individuals to introduce yourself via e-mail, though for marketing and PR purposes, it provides a return on investment like no other. Next, write informative articles for your website. Remember that people think about themselves first. When writing and designing your website, think about what the potential client would want to know before buying your service.

If you write your website solely about your company and your achievements, then visitors are going to see no value in it.

3 Best Asian Food Restaurants in Abilene, Texas

Do you like Asian food? If you do, then you must visit Abilene, Texas to eat some of the best Asian food you will ever taste. When you get to Abilene, try not one, but all three of these wonderful Asian restaurants:

Szechuan Chinese Restaurant, located at 3425 South First Street, is the best Asian Restaurant in Abilene, Texas. It is one of the smaller Asian food restaurants and does less business than the others likely due to not offering a buffet. You have to order your food from the menu, but the good thing is that it’s not full of Monosodium Glutamate (MSG). Your food is actually fresh when you get it. Szechuan Chinese Restaurant is known for its Kung Pao Chicken, so try it when you visit. You might want to call in your order, though. The atmosphere at this restaurant is not always pleasant due to frequent struggles between the manager and employees. You can order out by calling 325.673.9100.

Fuji Japanese Steak House, located at 3110 South 27th Street, serves the best steak you can get; plus, the cook is fun to watch. You get soup first, then rice, and then your main entrée with vegetables. Fuji Japanese Steak House will even let you skip the rice and get double vegetables if you are on a high-protein diet, and they won’t charge you extra for this. You can order out by calling 325.695.9233, but you’ll miss out on food portion and food quality, not to mention the entertainment of watching the cook prepare your meal. This is a delightful place to dine, but the service is ordinary. Too, Fuji’s menu asks you to leave a hefty tip, but don’t oblige. When the owner /manager of this restaurant takes his family out, he fails to tip his server more than a few bucks, even after the server takes care of his entire family.

China Star, located at 3601 South First Street, is the most popular of these three Asian restaurants due to their all-you-can-eat buffet. They do serve the best baked Salmon, if you get lucky enough to get some of the small bit that they serve. Plus, their buffet is affordable for what they serve. You can get an all-you-can-eat buffet (loaded with meat dishes) for about $8 per person at lunch and about $10 per person at dinner. Avoid the holidays, though. China Star increases the buffet price by about $4, and you basically get a tablecloth for it; that’s all. The meal includes soup, but the drink is extra. China Star constantly re-works their buffet to try and stay on top of the Chinese food industry in Abilene, and the hot oil that they serve on their buffet helps them to stay in the competition, so don’t forget to taste the hot oil when you eat at China Star.

3 Benefits of a Flexitarian Diet

With the coming new year many people are going to be looking for a way to lose weight and one of the best ways to lose weight is with a flexitarian diet.

What is a flexitarian diet?

Flexitarians would be best described as a vegetarian that sneaks in a little bit of meat throughout the week, generally speaking around 9oz to 25oz per week.

What kind of benefits can you see on a flexitarian diet?

There are 3 great benefits of a flexitarian diet to start with:

1. You will improve your overall health. Most Americans consume too much red meat and toxins. Unless you are eating organic meat you need to know that many animals are raised in farms which are poor living conditions for any type of animal, as they are raised in cramped areas and are fed genetically modified foods. These in turn can have adverse effects on your health.

Most vegetarians on average live 3.6 years longer than meat eaters, and have a better quality of life.

Immediate changes you’ll also notice in your health on a flexitarian diet and a good exercise program is a reduction in flabby belly fat, drop in blood pressure, cholesterol, and many times overall better sexual health and performance. Yes, it can increase your endurance and improve your sex life, which was reason enough for me to give it a try.

2. You’ll save money on your grocery bill. Most families are forced to tighten their budget, and with that in mind it’s a good idea to reduce your grocery bill whenever possible. If you look at your grocery bill you’ll probably notice the most expensive item on the receipt is meat. You can drastically cut your bill by simply replacing meat with tofu or soy.

3. Flexitarianism is a lot easier on the environment. It takes less energy to put vegetables on your table for your family, so you’ll also lower your carbon footprint.

Those are three great benefits of a flexitarian diet, and if you’d like to learn more you can check out a book called “The Flexitarian Diet: The Mostly Vegetarian Way to Lose Weight, Be Healthier, Prevent Disease, and Add Years to Your Life” by Dawn Jackson Blatner. I’m in no way affiliated with the author, nor do I receive anything if you buy it, however, it’s a great book with over 100 delicious recipes, and can help you fast track your flexitarian diet.

3 Amazing New Murphy Bed Ideas

The biggest problem with most Murphy beds is that even though they don’t take up much space when they’re closed, you still can’t use the space in front of them during the day because they need a landing pad to dock at night. Not these Murphy beds. Meet the new generation of hide-away wonders. These double-duty units save precious real estate and still allow you the use your floor space out front for other purposes. They’re pure genius.

• Under the Flat Screen TV

I did a double-take when I saw this hide-away design – it couldn’t be any better thought out. The large, ornate wall unit houses two side cabinets and a large space for your flat screen TV in the middle. And since good design allows a generous amount of floor space between the TV and your seating area, it’s the ideal place to pull out a queen-sized from the cabinet under the flat screen.

This is perfect when you don’t want to waste a spare room on a guest room that only gets used a few times each year. Claim the space for a media room you can use all year long and stash the bed until it’s needed. When you make up the bed, put the pillows on the opposite end and I’m betting your guests won’t complain about the view.

• Behind the Sofa

In a studio apartment, every inch counts. So putting a backless sofa in front of a Murphy bed is brilliant. Toss the pillows and cushions to the side at night and pull down a comfortable queen size mattress. It’s so much better than a convertible sofa bed with that darn bar everyone complains about. And with the sofa in front of the Murphy bed, it doesn’t look like a Murphy bed – it looks like a high-end, custom wood wall installation.

• It’s a Desk – Wait, it’s a Bed

This wall unit Murphy bed is amazing. It’s a wall unit, a work desk and a bed. The large desk folds down from the front of the Murphy bed when the bed is stowed. Then when you need to retire for the night, the desk folds back up onto the front of the wall unit and the Murphy bed comes down. What a great design.

See the pictures and inspiration for these ideas in the Murphy Bed ideabook on Houzz and create your double-duty bedroom without sacrificing floor space.

3 Best P90X Exercises for the Back

Looking at many different transformational before and after pictures, one outstanding attribute could be the change in someone’s back from a “block” or round shape to a more sculpted “V” shape. Basically the back is wide at the shoulders and narrows to the slimmer waist line. With a good nutritional diet and included in that formula would be an exercise routine to build the muscles in the back to develop in such a way to look good. In addition with strengthening of the back, you become more functional. As always consult with your health care professional or team before attempting any fitness programs and review the DVD program.

Note that many exercises involve a chin-up bar for pull ups and dumbbell weights. All of the exercises can be modified to use bands. Bands are great for those who do not have a bar, weights or travel constantly. I wonder what the TSA would say if you put an over the door chin up bar or a set of dumbbells through the x-ray machine at the airport. Here are some top back exercises from P90X.

Wide Front Pull-Up is when you grab the bar a few inches wider than the your shoulder width, pull your body up until your chin is above the bar. Then lower your body making sure that your arms are fully extended at the bottom of the position. A modification for this pull up because most people can not do pull ups, is with the use of a sturdy chair with both feet on the chair. As you get stronger, you can use one foot instead. Another modification would be with the use of the bands. You can attached the band using the bar or with a door hinge attachment. With a wide grip above you, pull the handles towards the chest with the palms down and keeping the handles apart.

Congdon Locomotive is a back exercise that uses dumbbell weights for strength resistance. Position the weights and step with one foot forward and knees bent, while keeping your back flat, bend at the waist. Grasp the weights from the forward foot and alternate lifting the weights to the waist. You will look like a Choo-Choo train. With a band modification, you shorten the band by creating a loop with in the band and stepping on the loop making the bands “shorter” for the exercise movement.

Here is a move for the lower back. Superman is done with you lying in your belly, extended legs and arms parallel and arms out in front parallel as well. Basically you will be flying without getting off the ground. Now try to life as much of your body off the ground and your belly will be left touching. You will be pointing your thumbs skyward and don’t bend the knees. Keep your arms as straight as possible as you lift your limbs off the ground. Look down at the ground. Tilting it down slightly while keeping you spine straight.

Please review the manual and instructions from the DVD for that great back! And take caution to avoid injury. Visit www.runwithnoah.com for a free membership at Team Beachbody for more tips and advice.

3 Cars Under $14,000 that Ranks at the Top in Dependability

For me, the most important feature of a car is its dependability. A smooth ride, great handling, and power are all meaningless if the car is in the shop. To get a car that is well made and reliable, you can spend a lot of money. However, it is possible to find a car that is dependable and still affordable. Here are three cars that start under $14,000 that should help make visits to the mechanic a rarity.

3) 2010 Nissan Cube(Base Model) – Price: $13,990(1)

The Nissan Cube is a stylish, compact, van-shaped vehicle that is geared to compete against vehicles like the Scion xB. The Cube has garnered a lot of negative publicity, mostly due to its boxy shape. For an example of this criticism, see here. It’s true that the shape is not aerodynamic and will not appeal to everybody’s tastes.

However, if you can get over the Cube’s unique looks, you will find a vehicle that is well-built, has lots of room, and gets fairly decent mileage(25 mpg city/30 mpg hwy(2)). Nissan has always built strong small cars, with the popular Sentra being a prime example. Nissans last well, hold their value, and are not outrageous to maintain.

The Cube is best suited for a small family that wants basic, affordable transportation. While deceptively roomy for a vehicle so compact, it is not ideal for hauling a lot of stuff along with the family. Consider the Cube if you want value with a touch of distinctiveness.

2) 2011 Ford Fiesta S Sedan – Price: $13,320(3)

While other automakers went gaga over SUVs a few years back, Ford remained committed to keeping a dependable, small car in its lineup, namely, the Focus. Now Ford brings us the Fiesta, a small car to compete with vehicles like the Honda Fit and Chevrolet Aveo. It is a small car with European styling, great handling, and decent power.

In my opinion, the Fiesta will dominate the small, affordable, sporty car market in short order. It gets excellent mileage(28 mpg city/37 mpg hwy(4)), has been dependable in the two years it has been on sale in Europe, and outhandles every other car its class.

The only(minor) drawback is the size of the Fiesta. It is quite small. If you are in the market for a small car and want something sporty and inexpensive, look no further than the Fiesta.

1) 2010 Kia Forte LX – Price: $13,695(5)

At one time, Kia made cheap cars that didn’t last very long. Over the years, their quality has improved dramatically, and the Forte is the latest example of Kia’s combination of quality and affordability. The Forte is a 5-passenger, four-door sedan that should meet the needs of budget-conscious families.

The Forte is visually striking and might even be called sporty. Its low-slung front end and sleek grill make you wonder what its packing under the hood. The answer is a 156 horsepower, 4-cylinder engine that manages to get 25 mpg city/34 mpg hwy(6). The 156 horses are actually quite respectable for a car the size of the Forte.

Expect the Forte to last well with a low overall cost of ownership. For the price, you might not find a better small family car out there.

If you don’t have much money to throw around, make sure that when you spend it on a car it won’t keep draining your finances with endless repair problems. Check into one of these three cars and you won’t be disappointed.

3 Building Blocks of an Exercise Program for Women

Everyday there is new information on news broadcasts, talk shows and women’s magazines all claiming to have the best exercise program for women. We see pictures and tips for exercises that help us deal with our aging bodies -emphasizing our arms, thighs and abdominal fat. However, what they most often neglect to mention is that the activity they promote stems from one of the three building blocks of exercise – strengthening, stretching and aerobic. Although we feel attracted to the benefits of the exercises they are promoting, the reason that most women quit doing them is that they have not developed the core essentials of any exercise program.

Exercise is like a wonder drug for women. The more we can do, without undo strain on our bodies, the better we feel. Every woman needs to be aware of three building blocks of exercise: stretching, strengthening and aerobic and then to practice them in our daily lives. Each offers its own set of benefits. After mastering these – any new special exercises will seem easy and may even be a bit boring.

Strengthening exercises through leg lifts, weight lifting, pushing and pulling increases our muscle mass. This not only increases our physical strength, it also firms and tones our body. For women the benefits of strengthening exercises include being able to lift and carrying objects easier in all types of situations. Our activities of daily living become less tiring because our body has the muscle strength to endure. We feel better physiologically and psychologically because we feel we are able to accomplish more.

Stretching arms, legs, upper and lower body and holding the stretch for 10 seconds increases our flexibility. We all know stretching exercises are essential to increasing our mobility. However, it is a little unknown fact that, while not adding muscle mass, stretching also increases our physical strength. The secret is in holding the stretch. Ten minutes of stretching exercises three times a week makes it easier for us to bend, reach and walk.

Any type of aerobic exercise strengthens our heart and lungs. This includes swimming, walking, water exercise, biking, jogging, etc. Aerobic exercise is a calorie burner and better than any diet. In addition to weight loss and maintenance, many women pursue aerobic activities because of the added benefit in body toning. However, the best reason for engaging in aerobic exercise is that it offers us protection from diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure.
