1st Man Born with a Disability Received Black Belt in Ohio

When you think of someone who’s a Black Belt, you think of someone who can walk.

Paul Brailer uses a wheelchair, braces and sometimes crutches for optimal mobility. Having been born with Spina Bifida, Paul has been overcoming challenges his whole life, such as getting out of braces that went up to his chest and moving from a walker to crutches.

The new mobility he acquired when the old braces came off surely changed Paul’s life forever. He had been free from the shackles; they were hot and uncomfortable, his legs locked so he had to hop around.

Only now he had to learn how to move his legs independently and use his new handy dandy crutches; they send shivers down my spine; I have tried them, and they are very hard to walk with. I give him props, because he not only handles them; he mastered them. He spent time in and out of the hospital as a child/teen.

What sparked this amazing transformation of health, fitness and Karate after 20-some years? Paul’s dad passed away. They were incredibly close, and when the police suspected he might have been murdered, Paul decided that he had to think about safety and thought about getting a conceal to carry permit. Not sure if that would be the best idea, he put the decision on hold for a while.

Paul had been mugged shortly after starting karate class. While wheeling down the street, the mugger tried to steal his cell phone but Paul grabbed his arm and bent it back and the attacker not only dropped the cell phone, but he also fled from the scene. Paul said he could hear a bone snap and figured he had broken the mugger’s wrist.

Paul fought off the attacker with techniques he learned in karate class. After that, Paul finally decided to buy his gun and had gotten a conceal carry permit.

Although being a Black Belt has been a very important goal, which he achieved February 16, 2012, the focus on his life now is helping others get fit and be safe.

Paul thought about his physically disabled friends who could never fight off an attacker and set out to create Criptaedo. He modifies moves so that everyone has a chance to learn self-defense. He does the same for karate moves. Kids are drawn to him and cannot seem to get enough of their “Criptaedo – Roll Model.”

You will find a variety of information on the Criptaedo website and the Criptaedo You Tube Channel.

Don’t hesitate to friend him on Facebook or twitter. Paul says Karate changed his life, now he has confidence in his own abilities. Paul is available for public speaking engagements.

1st Round NFL Playoff Predictions; 2011 Football Spread Betting Picks

All spreads are from as of 1/3/2011

AFC Wild Card Round

#1. New England Patriots (14-2) Bye

#2. Pittsburgh Steelers (12-4) Bye

#6. New York Jets (11-5) (+3 -120) vs. #3. Indianapolis Colts (10-6) (-3 Even) O/U 44.5
Hard to find a better and more intriguing 1st round matchup. The Colts had a rough year but did what they needed to win the division and earn a home game against the Jets in the first round. The Jets didn’t necessarily live up to the hype they created this year, but they tip toed into the playoffs and now have their feet firmly on the ground. The Jets had a nice tuneup game against the Bills and are ready to take on the defending AFC Champions. The Colts have won four games in a row, but all were close games (1 by 10 the rest under a touchdown), and were against non-playoff teams. The Jets main concern is the maturity of Mark Sanchez and if he can put a mistake-free game together. The Jets have 4th best rushing attack, 6th best pass defense, and 3rd best rushing defense. Three of the Jets last 5 games were against playoff teams, and I wouldn’t discount the experience they have gotten from the last few weeks tough opponents. If Sanchez can avoid mistakes and help lead a balanced Jets attack, the Jets will win this game in Indy.
Prediction: Jets beat the Colts 23-17, Jets (+3) UNDER 44.5

#4. Kansas City Chiefs (10-6) vs. #5. Baltimore Ravens (12-4) (-3 Even) O/U 41
Although the Chiefs did win the AFC West, the fact that they get a home game against the 12-4 Ravens seems unfair. The Ravens are 6-1 in their last 7 but have struggled to separate themselves late against most of their opponents. The Ravens are 20th in passing and 14th in rushing while being only 21st in pass defense. The Ravens strength will go against the Chiefs strength as the 5th ranked rushing defense will face the Chiefs NFL leading rushing attack. Things were looking great for the Chiefs before a regular season finale beating they took from the Oakland Raiders. Cassel was 11/33 with 2 interceptions and no touchdowns in the 31-10 loss. Even at home in the playoffs, the Chiefs look very vulnerable and is ready to take another beating from the Ravens.
Prediction: Ravens win 31-17, Ravens (-3) OVER 41

NFC Wild Card Round

#1. Atlanta Falcons (13-3) Bye

#2. Chicago Bears (11-5) Bye

#3. Philadelphia Eagles (10-6) (-2.5) vs. #6. Green Bay Packers (10-6) O/U 46
This is a much harder matchup for the Eagles than having to play the Giants in the first round. The Packers have the 5th best passing attack and 5th best pass defense. Philly’s advantage in this game lies on the shoulders of Michael Vick being able to run the ball when there are no viable options to throw to. The Packers have lacked a good rushing attack since Ryan Grant went down very early in the season. When it comes to defense the Packers have the significant edge. The Packers have allowed the 2nd fewest points per game at 15, while the Eagles have allowed 23.6. Two weeks ago the Eagles looked like a Super Bowl contender out of the NFC, but after a pathetic loss to the Vikings with a rookie quarterback and a loss to the Cowboys, their future doesn’t look nearly as bright.
Prediction: Packers with the upset 21-17, Packers (+2.5) UNDER 46

#4. Seattle Seahawks (7-9) vs. #5. New Orleans Saints (11-5) (-10.5) 45 O/U
Anything can happen in the playoffs, and the Saints are on the road, but Seattle can’t compete with New Orleans can they? No! The largest flaw for the Saints other than their battered up rushing attack is their rush defense, and the Seahawks can’t run the ball. The Seahawks are 31st in the NFL in rushing and 27th in pass defense. This is a pathetic game, and the Saints should cover easily even though they have to travel to Seattle.
Prediction: Saints win big 38-14, Saints (-10) OVER 45

1999 British Open Among Greatest of All Time

Entering the final hole of the British Open with a 3 shot lead should give you comfort. All you need is to play safe and you’ll leave with a British Open championship on your resume. It seems like a sure thing. Unless your Jean Van De Velde.

The 1999 British Open took place at Carnoustie Golf Links in Scotland. The tournament is noted for its fairly high scores. The three golfers in the playoff that year finished 6 over par. Justin Leonard, one of those leaders, didn’t turn in a round under par the entire British Open. Nor did Tiger Woods, whose 10 over finish was good enough for a 7th place tie. Other notables, like Phil Mickelson, didn’t even make the cut. That 6 over was the highest winning score at the British Open since World War II. It’s safe to say that Carnoustie tore up the British Open contenders.

That was never more evident than on the 72nd hole. Despite shooting a low for the day at 67, Paul Lawrie was in the clubhouse 3 shots behind Van De Velde. Van De Velde needed only a double bogie on the final hole to ensure himself the British Open crown. But he seemed doomed from the get go, using a risky driver off the tee, putting him in the rough. He then wound up in deeper rough after hitting the grandstand. His 3rd shot put him in the water. Famously, Van De Velde removed his shoes, rolled up his sleeves, and considered playing the ball from the water. Ultimately he decided to take the drop, and then shot in to a bunker. Amazingly, Van De Velde finally got a good out of the bunker and putted for a triple bogie, forcing him in to a tie with Lawrie and Leonard. Lawrie would capture the playoff, ultimately coming from 10 shots behind to win the British Open championship. That’s the record for a comeback at the Open. Lawrie was the first Scotsman since 1985 to win the British Open, and the first to win in Scotland since 1910.

2 Interesting Angles, 2 Fantastic Journalists, 1 Great Sporting Experience

You may have heard Manchester City Manager Roberto Mancini comparing Argentine striker Sergio Aguerro to Brazilian legend Romario and thought ‘what an apt compliment?’

What you may not have known is that this comparison had long being made even before the South American lad landed from Atletico Madrid.

3 ‘experts’ on the South American soccer style had already commented on Kun’s (Aguerro’s nickname) similarity and marked him as this season’s Premiership revelation even before his wonderful brace against Queen’s Park Rangers.

One of the experts is Cesar Luis Menotti, Aguerro’s coach at Independiente and the other is Barcelona coach, Josep ‘Pep’ Guardiola.

The 3rd expert is Brazil-based BBC journalist, Tim Vickery.Tim has been living in Brazil since 1994 and has been the BBC’s expert on South American soccer ever since.

He has a knack for noticing talent on the continent even before Europe’s bigwigs scouts spot it.The Brazilian duo, Robinho and Diego are 2 examples that Vickery was always quick to tout even before they burst out of Santos.Although these 2 have not impressed as much as their 2 Argentine contemporaries, Aguerro, Calos Tevez and Lionel Messi, their potential remains unquestioned.

But it his keen attention to detail that brings out a unique angle to sports reporting and keeps his audience glued to their sets when Vickery is dispatching his latest report from Latin America. In a departure from normal reporting tradition, Vickery goes to great lengths to bring out the game shots in an audio-only presentation style.

It is not unusual to hear a Vickery presentation describing what part of the foot a player used to hit the ball, what part of the leg they used to control the ball and exactly what corner of the net they slotted the ball.

He also spices up his reports with pomp and colour such as one on Diego’s comment that Messi can run with the ball while watching TV. “He is now able to switch channels as well,” wrote Vickery.

Another rejoinder was on former Vasco Da Gama President Eurico Maranda’s comment that beating Flamengo gave him more pleasure than sex. Tim Vickery’s retort: There were no orgasmic moments for him or anyone else in this latest game between the two sides. It finished 0-0.

And now that Ronaldinho’s form is back-he has recently been recalled to the Seleccao-and Tim Vickery-as you can guess, so all this coming. No wonder he’s called Legendinho in British sporting circles-he’s a true authority on things soccer in South America.

Another wonderful reporter who brings out an interesting angle to dispatches that may normally be bland is Colin Maitland. You can call him BBC’s North American ‘expert’. In a ‘study’ on a couple of American sports, Maitland wondered loudly why a score in American football is called a Touchdown while to score in the cross-Atlantic version of the game you have to touch the ball down but it’s called a Try. In the American version, the player doesn’t have to touchdown.

Need another poke from Maitland on American sport?-In American ‘football’ the player rarely touches the ball with the feet while in the cross-Atlantic version of the same, players sometime kick the ball- with their feet of course but this is not obvious from the name- rugby.

2 Key Steps of the Vision in a Business Plan

The preparation of a strategic business plan is a multi-step process covering mission, vision, objectives, values, strategies, goals and programs. So what about the vision of your business plan?

Can you Dream? Then you can – DEVELOP A VISION STATEMENT – it is your ticket to success – the vision statement is about what your future business will look like. It has been said that a vision statement imagines what success looks like. Entrepreneurs often ask a business coach to help them get their thoughts out of their minds and into a business Vision.

A Vision Statement provides the inspiration for your daily operations and your strategic decisions. It is a photograph in words and in your mind – of the future of your business. Providing the destination for your journey – without knowing where you are going, how can you plan the journey?

• A vision statement focuses on the ‘what’ of your business – what do you want your business to accomplish. • Describes your idealized perception of what your business will look like under perfect conditions. • What are your intentions for your business? Where is your business going to be in 6 months, 12 months, or 5 years? What will your company have accomplished? • It will help you stay focused on the big picture – the end results.

Doing this by yourself usually isn’t a problem – the issue is usually just getting it done – or procrastination. My business coaching clients – who are entrepreneurs and small business owners – learn how and why to stay focused and draw a picture (in words) of their Business Vision.

Statement example: The Perfect Team plans to provide a wide range of baseball-related products and services to casual players, minor league players, community clubs and organizations, competitive teams and players.

Business Plan Assignment: Even if you already have your vision statement – your vision may change and grow – So, why not grow with your thoughts. Write out what you are planning and thinking about with regards to your business plan’s vision.

Step 1. You can do some homework and write: Think about what are your short-term business visions/intentions? What do you plan to have, do or be in the next 3 months? This will help you see the long-term.

Step 2. Write down your long-term business visions/intentions. What you plan to have, do, or be in the next 6 months, 12 months, 2 years, and 5 years. And, in turn this helps you to see more clearly what your short-term goals can be.

Always remember that your measure of belief that you have in your own ability to achieve this Business Vision and plan will also affect that Vision achievement. This is where a business coach or entrepreneur coach comes in – helping you move forward in your Vision intention.

Remember, you have always had some sort of vision for your future – now make it happen. Plan your trip and see and feel yourself reaching your destination successfully.

This article is dedicated to everybody who has a dream – a vision.

Continue to grow and be successful.

So let’s get started on those important action steps – why not?

2 Easy Grape Recipes: Frozen Red Grapes and Grape Salad Using Fresh Grapes

Grapes are in season right now and you can find them as low as $.98 per pound at the grocery store. Frozen grapes are a great and inexpensive snack. Frozen grapes are great as garnishes also. Following are a few great tips and recipes for enjoying grapes both frozen and fresh during their growing season. Grapes are also low in calories, but naturally sweet, and are an inexpensive way to get your daily required intake of fruits.

Easy Frozen Red Grape Recipe: Freezing grapes and eating them in their natural form is the easiest and best way to enjoy them on a hot and humid summer day. It is best to use seedless red grapes for freezing because they have just the right sugar alcohol content to not freeze completely, making them easier to eat than green grapes when frozen.

As many red seedless grapes as your heart and tummy desires

To Prepare:

Separate grapes from the vine and place in a bowl of water. Soak at least 20 minutes to remove the dirt and pesticides that may be on them. Rinse well and spread on towels to dry. Then place separated grapes on a large cookie sheet for several hours until frozen solid. Transfer to a zip lock storage bag. To serve, take out just what you need and eat them alone as a snack, or add some to yogurt, ice cream, eat with jello, or put toss them on your favorite salad, or add them as a garnish to mixed drinks, or smoothies. Use your imagination and come up with your own ideas for how to use these scrumptious frozen grapes.

Easy Grape Salad

4 pounds seedless grapes, red or white, about 4 cups

1 (8oz) package cream cheese, softened

8 ounces sour cream

½ cup pecans

½ cup white sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 teaspoons brown sugar

To Prepare:

Mix cream cheese, sour cream, white sugar and vanilla. Add grapes and stir until grapes are coated. Sprinkle with brown sugar and pecans. Refrigerate and mix again before serving.

These recipes are easy, inexpensive and delicious. I hope you will try them and enjoy!

2 Rules to Help Lose Belly Fat

If you think that losing belly fat is is difficult to do, then you are not alone. Very many people find it difficult to lose weight and more often than not will fail because of this,so if this sounds familiar to you then these are 2 rules to help you lose unwanted belly fat.

Rule Number One. Try keeping yourself busy.

By keeping yourself busy you may be unaware that you are actually burning calories simply through normal daily activities. Did you know you actually burn callories even when your sleeping?.So just image how many more calories you would burn if you kept yourself busy all day! As your daily activities increase, lets say through regular exercise for example, then your calories would be burned much faster than if you were just sat around doing nothing.

Therefore, the busier you are the less likely you will become hungry as you will not feel as bored thus feeling the urge to eat when you feel hungry.

Rule Number Two. Make sure you keep hunger at bay.

Research has shown that the main cause of people putting on weight is that they give in too easily to hunger pangs, this being the main reason why they fail. People tend to fail more often because they constantly crave food, and nobody likes going hungry.

The worst part about feeling hungry is that there is no need to feel like this. In order for you not to feel hungry all the time is to introduce a good healthy diet. Many diets suggest that you eat a cracker a day or tell you to cut back on larger meals, so these types of diet should be avoided.

Celebrity type diets usually promise to help you lose belly fat by drinking various types of liquid shakes, thus leaving you feeling hungry all the time. Simply put, the less you eat the slower your metabolism becomes, therefore you burn less calories when you should actually be trying to burn more in order to lose weight. In order to lose weight and unwanted belly fat it is important that a high protein diet be used as you will feel fuller for longer and your metabolism will be working to its maximum potential thus making you feel less exhausted and provide you with more energy.

So, if you want to lose belly fat and keep it off you simply need to get more active and find a diet that makes you feel healthier and stick to it, you owe it to yourself to become the person you always wanted to be.

2 Glue Recipes: Stamp Glue and Envelope Mucilage

How to Make Stamp Glue: Stamp glue (or stamp gum) is a glue used by stamp collectors to glue stamps to scrapbooks or stamp books. You simply brush the glue to the back of the stamp and adhere to the paper. This stamp glue is as fun to make as it is to use and you will save money by making your own. This recipe makes about 4 ounces of stamp glue. If you need more, just double up the recipe!

Gather these ingredients to make stamp glue: 1 packet (¼ ounce) of unflavored gelatin, 1 tablespoon cold water, 3 tablespoons boiling water, ½ teaspoon white corn syrup, ½ teaspoon lemon extract.

Add the cold water to a small bowl and sprinkle in the gelatin. Let it sit for about an hour to soften. You can also let it sit overnight if you want.

Add the boiling water to the softened gelatin and stir until completely dissolved. Add the corn syrup and the lemon extract to the gelatin and mix well.

Store the stamp glue in a small covered jar such as a baby food jar. Do not refrigerate. The glue will turn to gel overnight. To return it to a liquid state just warm the covered jar in a bowl of hot water. Do not add water to the glue. The stamp glue will keep for several months.

How to Make Envelope Mucilage: This is a recipe for envelope mucilage. Envelope mucilage is a type of glue you use to make your own envelopes. You spread the mucilage on the flap of the envelope and let it dry. When you want to use the envelop you just lick it and stick! This envelope mucilage is as fun to make as it is to use and you will save money by making your own envelopes. And you will have fun making your own envelopes too! This recipe makes about ½ cup of envelope mucilage. It is enough glue to cover several dozen envelopes. If you need more or less you can just adjust the recipe to meet your needs.

You will need the following ingredients to make envelope mucilage: 6 tablespoons of pure white vinegar, 4 packets (1 ounce total) of unflavored gelatin, 1 tablespoon pure lemon extract.

Bring the vinegar to a boil in a small pan. As soon as it starts to boil turn the heat to low. Add the four packets of unflavored gelatin to the boiling hot vinegar and stir until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Remove the pan from the heat and add the lemon extract and stir until the extract is well mixed.

Apply the mucilage to the flap of your envelope with any small brush such as a small tip paint brush or even a make up brush. You may also use a Q-Tip type cotton swab. After applying the mucilage to the envelope let it dry. When you want to use the envelope just lick it like you would any envelope and seal it.

Store any leftover envelope mucilage in a small glass jar such as a baby food jar. It will keep for several months without spoiling. It will thicken when it’s cooled. To use it again, put the closed jar in a bowl of warm water to let the mucilage melt. Do not add water to the mucilage.

2 Amazing Belly Exercises You Must Try

Do you wonder where your flat belly went? Perhaps you are getting a little older or maybe you had children and the flat belly is gone. You have the desire and willpower to try to get your belly flat again. You may have tried dieting with absolutely no success.

Just taking diet pills alone will not give you a flat belly. Or maybe you have heard to cut out certain foods or go on certain fad diets to give you a flat belly. Maybe you have had some success, but the fad diet is one you cannot make a healthy life-long commitment to and therefore your flat belly is no longer flat.

Many people get frustrated and figure their flat belly is a thing of the past. They remember their flat belly with fond memories of youth.

Fad diets, diet pills, etc., are just that “fads.” The people that run and own diet company products are trying to make money off of you. They are succeeding as diet products are a multi-billion dollar business. They want you to buy their diet pills or products. They want you to see some success only to have it taken away once you quit using their products. If you lost weight and your belly looked trimmer, you may go back to using their product so they can make more money off of you. Plus, your friends, family members and co-workers will see that you have lost weight and wonder how you did it. When you tell them what product you used, they, too, may run out and purchase the product or products.

You may have tried belly exercises only to find that these are not helping you much.

To help you get the flat belly you want, you can perform two exercises that will help you immensely.

It may surprise you that you will be working on your legs and your core muscles, not your belly muscles. (Therefore, you will not constantly be doing belly exercises.) These are the larger muscles in your body that will help you reduce body fat. The exercises that you are to perform are squats and deadlifts. Squats are performed by standing with nice and straight posture, arms out to the front and bend. Slowly start to stand tall and repeat.

Deadlift exercise is very powerful because you are using so many muscles

in your body such as your lower back, legs, abdomen and buttocks. Deadlift exercises are performed by using a barbell. Add the amount of weight to the barbell that you want to start with. Place the barbell on the floor right in front of you.

Next grip the barbell and make sure your hands are a little wider than shoulder width apart. You can hold the barbell with an overhand grip. If you choose to you can hold the barbell with what is called a mixed hand grip. A mixed hand grip is where one hand is in over hand grip and the other hand is in underhand grip.

You will need to keep your arms straight and your head facing forward. Make sure you keep your chest out. Always be conscientious of your back being straight and your shoulders back. Next, squat down and keep your thighs parallel to the floor.

Make sure you inhale deep then lift the bar by digging your heels into the floor. Your legs and hips should be extended all the while exhaling while you lift the barbell. When you reach to the top of your lift, push your hips forward.

Hold the barbell for a second, then very slowly go back to your starting position. You will push your hips back and squat back to the beginning position. Place the barbell on the floor as it was when you first started.

These all over the body exercises as well as belly exercises (as they affect many parts of your body) along with eating healthy, smaller meals throughout the day will help you achieve a flat belly.

You can also triple your tummy fat burning exercises by reading this article by Rob Poulos: How to Triple Your Fat Burning Workout Results – using resistance training.

2 Ideas on How Facebook Can Compete with Google+

With the recent launch of Google+, Facebook may very well have a formidable competitor. However, Facebook can easily provide similar features to those provided by Google+ by making a few changes to the Facebook interface. For example, the “Sparks” application in Google+ allows users to define their favorite interests and receive separated, organized updates on each of their specified interests. In essence, the Google+ “Sparks” feature is similar to Facebook’s “Like” feature, where Facebook users can “Like” Facebook pages related to their personal interests and view recent posts by “Like” pages on their News Feed each time they log on.

While Facebook “Likes” are a popular and widely used feature, an update to Facebook’s News Feed interface can better organize what posts are displayed when Facebook users log on. A new “Likes” tab for Facebook’s News Feed would be able to separate posts by Facebook friends from posts by a user’s “Like” pages. Facebook users might find this feature useful by being able to separate diverse “Likes content” with “friend content” like status updates, posted links, notes, and videos posted by Facebook friends. However, imagine if Facebook developed this feature but “democratized” the interface update, thereby allowing Facebook users the freedom to decide for themselves whether or not they want to use the new feature. This would be a first for Facebook and truly an innovative way to implement a new site feature.

Some might see Google+ and its “Sparks” feature as something unique that Facebook can’t match. “Sparks” does have the ability to constantly generate new and updated content specific to an individual’s personal interests from outside of the Google+ network, which is something Facebook cannot currently match. However, in my opinion, what really makes the Google+ “Sparks” feature unique from Facebook’s “Likes” feature is not the fact that “Sparks” has the ability to generate updated content specific to the user’s interests. On a basic level, Google News can preform a similar function to the Google+ “Sparks” feature and users don’t need to register with Gmail or Google+ to use Google News. What makes “Sparks” unique is that user defined, customizable interests are private and can only be viewed by the Google+ user. Facebook users can change their privacy settings so that page “Likes” can only be viewed by themselves. This, however, runs counter to the purpose of “Like” pages (sharing one’s interests with others and connecting with those who share similar interests). Despite this limitation, Facebook could implement a site update that combines the elements of “Like” pages with the privacy of the Google+ “Sparks” feature.

Imagine if Facebook created a “Just Me” feature. Essentially, the “Just Me” feature would be a private (only visible to the individual user) version of Facebook’s “Likes” feature. Some Facebook users may avoid publicly “Liking” pages for products or services they frequently use and like in order to maintain a more professional Facebook image for employers, co-workers, professors, and anyone else. The addition of a “Just Me” feature could eliminate this dilemma. By using the “Just Me” feature, Facebook users can exercise freedom to publicly “Like” pages they have no worries about sharing and privately add pages they don’t wish to share but want to receive information on to their “Just Me” list. In addition to giving Facebook users an extra element of freedom, privacy, and convenience, the “Just Me” feature could increase Facebook’s advertising revenue and enhance existing opportunities for companies to market their product(s) on Facebook. Who knows? Maybe the competition for “Just Me” likes will be as intense as current competition for Facebook’s public “Likes.”

In sum, the addition of a “Likes” feature for Facebook’s News Feed and the addition of a “Just Me” feature to allow users to receive information on interests they truly like but are anxious to publicly share represent just two ideas to keep Facebook competitive in response to the recent emergence of Google+. However, these ideas represent my personal brainstorming ideas and are not (to my knowledge) currently active projects for Facebook’s development staff. Nonetheless, the online world will keep watching for Facebook’s next move as more users begin to join Google+.

2 Great FREE Tools Found in Your Windows XP Accessories Folder

Have you ever wondered why the great operating systems of Windows don’t come full of wonderful applications and tools from the start? Well if you have and you’ve spent a whole lot of time downloading programs, you need to stop. Today you will find out about 2 great tools that are already

– Program Compatibility Wizard
A lot of programs that you may have when you buy a new computer may have worked correctly at an earlier time on another computer but what if they dont’ work on your new one? Well now there is a cool program that needs not to be downloaded and has a very easy navigation all around. The wizard will help you test compatibility settings which you will choose and then it will produce solutions that may fix those problems. This program is a very useful tool to have. It allows you to test programs to see if they are compatible with your computer system basically.

It can be used many times without any restrictions and it’s also very easy to find. You can locate this tool by going to “Start”, “All Programs”, “Accessories”, and then you’ll see a small blue icon with a question mark and that’s it! Once you start up the program it will tell you what the program will do for you. The one thing that you need not forget is that this compatibility wizard should not be used to test older virus detection, backup, or system programs at all. It’s recommended that you don’t even try to do this as a cautionary precaution. You can choose the programs that you would like to check for compatibility from programs from a list of programs already installed on your computer, from a program on a CD-ROM and you can even choose to locate the program yourself manually.

– Remote Desktop Connection
You’ve heard of other people accessing computer from remote locations and now it’s time for you to find out that it’s not so amazing and hard to do because your system already comes with an applications that allows you to do this fast, easy, and without any time limits on it. All that you will need for this to work is to be connected to someone else who has MSN Messenger and a high-speed connection would help very much also.

Once you know that you both have that you can go to “Start”, “Help and Support”, and then click on the “Invite a friend to connect to your computer with Remote Assistance” link which will take you to a page that allows you to invite someone to help you from your messengers list, or to view your invitation status. You can also connect to a computer just using their IP address but for that you will have to use the Remote Assistance tool that’s located in the Accessories folder then inside of the Communications one. These two ways to access other computers are very valuable especially to those who work at an office then at home. There are many programs on the internet for download but none work like the one already installed in your system.

“1(A)The elder to the (B)chosen ©lady and her children, whom I (D)love in truth; and not only I, but also all who (E)know the truth, 2for (F)the sake of the truth which abides (G)in us and will be (H)with us forever: 3(I)Grace, mercy and peace will be with us, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. 4(J)I was very glad to find some of your children walking in truth, just as we have received commandment to do from the Father. 5Now I ask you, lady, (K)not as though I were writing to you a new commandment, but the one which we have had (L)from the beginning, that we (M)love one another. 6And (N)this is love, that we walk according to His commandments This is the commandment, (O)just as you have heard (P)from the beginning, that you should walk in it. 7For (Q)many deceivers have ®gone out into the world, those who (S)do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh This is (T)the deceiver and the (U)antichrist. 8(V)Watch yourselves, (W)that you do not lose what we have accomplished, but that you may receive a full reward. 9Anyone who goes too far and (X)does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son. 10If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, (Y)do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting; 11for the one who gives him a greeting (Z)participates in his evil deeds. 12(AA)Though I have many things to write to you, I do not want to do so with paper and ink; but I hope to come to you and speak face to face, so that your (AB)joy may be made full. 13The children of your (AC)chosen sister greet you.” (Quoted from;)

This one letter or epistle leaves us with a careful thought and warning. We must know the truth and guard ourselves from false doctrines and teachers. What God has accomplished in us must be guarded. The antichrist will try to take away what is precious to us, but we must remain strong despite all that is going on. Christians should not even let false doctrines enter their home. They bring only sorrow and grief. On a lighter note, how we act in public is watched, and we should not show invitation to the evil things of the world. What more is there to say to this section? It literally says, “Know the truth; do not accept or invite false doctrines or teachers.”

2 At-Home All Natural Sleep Remedies

I have always had trouble falling asleep. I am twenty-five and sometimes a good night’s sleep still manages to elude me. But I am starting to learn some at home tricks to fall asleep which I hope will help you as much as they have helped me. By “at-home” remedies I mean not taking any pill sleep aid like Tylenol PM. I am referring to all natural ways of getting good nights sleep.

Exercise has some many great effects on the body. Helping with sleep problems is just one of them. Just remember not to exercise close to bedtime. Preferably the morning or afternoon is best. Your body has Circadian Rhythms which tell the body when it is time to be active and when it is time to sleep. Exercise will help regulate these natural body rhythms. Exercising out doors with the natural light is a big help, but any increase in daily activity is good. Studies have been done to prove that exercise does indeed help with getting good nights sleep.

Bedtime is a time for relaxation not stirring up your body’s sympathetic “fight or flight” nervous system. This means letting go of the stress from your day, try turning the lights low at least an hour before bedtime. The pineal gland in the brain produces melatonin which is thought to play a role in sleep induction and the body’s internal clock. By turning the lights low there may be a greater increase in melatonin which is produced in periods of darkness. Studies are currently being conducted to understand more about this. I recommend a warm bath or shower, a warm glass of milk (optional), and putting something warm on the bottom of your feet whether it is Vick’s covered by socks, or a heat pack. I know that might sound odd but surprisingly enough I have found out that if my feet are warmer, my body starts relaxing more quickly. Why that is I have never been able to figure out.

Please be advised that these are merely my suggestions and that it is always best to discuss sleeping problems with your doctor.

I have tried the previously mentioned remedies and they have helped me. They seem to be more effective if I keep to a routine so you might want to keep that in mind. I hope you sleep well tonight, and if not then there is always tomorrow.

2 Weeks Until Christmas! No Money and A Long Gift List

2 weeks Till Christmas-No money, long gift list

What do you do? There is only 2 weeks until Christmas. Your bank account balance is slim, but your list of gifts to buy is long! Never fear, there is hope. It is possible to give heartfelt gifts on a limited budget, in a short amount of time.

For children, save up some toilet paper rolls, or cut wrapping paper tubes into 5 inch lengths. Place small toys, money, wrapped candies in the tube, then wrap the tube, leaving some paper overlapping the ends – gather the extra and tie with ribbons.

For small children who can not read – make picture books with pictures of family, pets and familiar places. Put pictures in $1 Store photo albums, add short words on each page, such as ” Mom”: “Fido” “My house”

Make individualized memory games for kids – print off duplicates of multiple pictures – cut into squares and laminate or cover with clear Contac paper. I add backs to mine – that says “Billy’s Memory Game” on each piece.

Make a homemade bean bag toss game. Use leftover plywood or even a large piece of cardboard for the backdrop. Cut out various sized holes/shapes for the targets. Paint to look like a scene – favorites are : Noah’s ark with windows and doors as targets, clowns with spots for targets, sky with balloons as targets, etc.

Again – use a scrap piece of plywood – hot glue on old knobs, levers, nonworking phones, etc. Lots of imaginary play as a space ship, submarine, etc.

Ring toss games – use various sized plastic lids for the rings – cut out the centers. Leave as is, paint or wrap with yarn/fabric. Use weighted soda bottles for targets, or a peg styled coat rack – paint or stain in vibrant colors.

Milk jug ball catchers – do a search online for instructions on making these. Add a soft sponge type ball, or a handmade one (crocheted, knitted, rags)

Do an online search for homemade kid recipes – things like bubbles, soap crayons, silly putty, slime and so forth.

Homemade recipes can also be found online for beauty recipes. These gifts are great for the females on your list. Look for things like bath salts, lip gloss, facial masks, etc.

Fleece scarves can be made quickly and inexpensively – these are great for all ages, and either sex. Scour the fabric stores for fleece remnants. Cut from selvage to selvage in 8″ – 12″ widths. Add trims as you like to the ends, cut fringes or not…

Soft jewelry for the girls/women – sewn from fancy fabric scraps, these can be quite nice. Young girls like to play dress up and a plastic canvas crown, bracelets, rings are quite an addition to the dress up trunk. Crocheted motifs on crocheted chains of metallic thread are very nice.

Rice/corn bags – these are easy to make, inexpensive and much appreciated by the receiver. Simply cut fabric slightly larger than you’d like the bag to be – I make mine rectangular shaped , about 8″ x 10″. Long, skinny rectangles are nice for neck aches, square ones are good for low backs, smaller ones work well for knees or headaches. Include instructions to heat in microwave for warm heat, or freeze in freezer for cold therapy.

Pictures make good gifts — either family photos, or scenic photos that you’ve taken yourself. For variations — make postcards, note cards, stationery, or illuminated pictures — print picture on transparency “paper”, put into a clear frame and place a tea light behind it.

For the men on your list — how about making homemade jerky? Do an online search for recipes…or making flavored coffees… “in a mug” recipes too. Check thrift stores or the Dollar store for mugs with a male theme.

Check out the stores that sell gift baskets of food stuffs, then replicate them with homemade versions. Much less expensive, and more personalized.

Time shortages and lack of money don’t have to mean a dreary Christmas. Use some ingenuity, your computer and make some fantastic presents!

2 Year College: Career Stability for Life

Did you just graduate from high school and are concerned about your future or where to turn for a career or is it, maybe, time for a career change? Kilgore College in Kilgore, Texas offers a two year college degree that will ensure a person’s placement in the Cathodic Protection career field.

What is Cathodic Protection you might ask? To sum it up, Cathodic Protection is the protection that is applied to unground pipelines, storage containers such as tanks and vessels, underground storage tanks for gasoline and other bi-products, and anything else that is metallic in nature and either under the ground or filled with a liquid substance. The protection applied for Cathodic Protection is to prevent or minimize corrosion of the structure, whether it be a storage tank or pipeline.

We have all heard of the stories on the news where a pipeline exploded doing incredible damage to neighborhoods and the first thing that is investigated is the Cathodic Protection system that is on that pipeline. In a way, a career in Cathodic Protection is actually a career in saving lives.

There are many people out there whether they are high school graduates or people just looking for a better paying and more fulfilling job and Cathodic Protection just might be the field that lands people in life long careers without having to invest too much time in schooling in order to obtain it.

Kilgore College is not the only way in order to get into a career in Cathodic Protection but it is stressed because by the time a person graduates they have the tools that they need to jump right into a career in Cathodic Protection and it is also rumored that head hunters are very interested in the graduates of that college.

Now for those people who do not want to invest in the time to go to a two year college it is possible to get a certification that will be a step up to get into the field. This certification is usually a week long and as long as the person passes the course they are rewarded with a CP1 Certificate or a CP Tester ranking. The organization that hosts these classes is called NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers). NACE is a recognized organization throughout the world and is a great way to get a feel for what Cathodic Protection is by visiting their website at The website will also provide dates and places where the CP 1 classes are being held. The down side is that the location may not be near where a person lives so hotel accommodations may be required. Plus, the classes costs money as well. The prices can be found on the website also.

However, having a basic understanding of corrosion, Cathodic Protection, and basic electricity is essential in order to understand and pass the class. Going in blind to one of these classes will ensure a loss of money and also a loss of a certificate that could change a person’s life.

In closing, although the field of Cathodic Protection may not be for everyone it is a field that is not going anywhere as long as pipelines continue to be under the earth. So if you want an exciting career that will constantly keep you learning and having a feeling of accomplishment at the days end then maybe this is the right field for you. Good luck everyone!

2 Reasons Not to Pay Your Taxes with a Credit Card

When you get done with your taxes this season, you may find yourself in that dreaded position: owing money to the IRS. The IRS does accept credit cards if you can’t write a check. Although this may sound tempting if you don’t have the cash on hand to pay down your debt, you might want to think twice.

Disadvantages of Paying The IRS with Credit Card

  1. Processing Fees: as you may already know, whenever you use a credit card the merchant incurs a 2-3% processing fee. But the IRS is no regular merchant, and they don’t pay those fees. So paying with a credit card means you’ll incur an added 2.35% processing fee. That’s $24 per every $1000 you owe, which adds up very quickly.
  2. Credit Score: credit card companies have already been lowering consumer credit limits, indirectly damaging users’ credit scores in the process. By paying down your IRS debt with a credit card, you use up that much more available credit, further hurting your credit score, which could mean big differences in your personal finances. For instance, car buyers with bad credit often have to opt for buy here pay here financing instead of a lower rate bank loan, because traditional lenders are loathe to hesitant to accept applicants with tarnished credit.

Alternative Solutions for Making Payment

If your dearth in cash is only short term, you could request an extension of 1-4 months through an Online Payment Agreement application available on the IRS website. Alternatively, you could also set up an installment agreement to pay them back in periodic installments, but through this process you may incur more penalties than with an extension, and the IRS can revoke your agreement for missed payments. There are also interest rates you have to pay, and potential penalties.

If you have absolutely no way to pay back the debt you owe, you can request what’s called an offer in compromise. However, very few taxpayers actually qualify for this kind of debt forgiveness unless they have exhausted any and all ways to pay back the debt, and they have a very dismal prospect of being able to do so in the future.

20 20 Cricket- Not Exactly a True ''Cricketer's'' Game

20 20 cricket was mainly started in New Zealand as part of the games played to raise money for a social cause. Over the years it has bloomed to become the most popular form of the sport. But over the long term it does harm the conventional form of the game.

Test cricket was the first form of cricket started in the 1800s . Since then , the game has been rightly referred to as the gentleman’s game. One of the main elements of cricket ie batting, has always been played with class and elegance and authority. In test matches there have been instances of batsmen who have singlehandedly won matches for their country by spending hours and days in the field , holding out all opposition. Then again, test cricket is not all about batting. The bowlers in the field have their fair share of responsibility , picking up 20 wickets over 5 long days , and provide a platform for their batsmen. And then there is the part played by the fielders. these aspects of cricket are depicted in 20 20 cricket in the most unorthodox way creating a sense of disorder to the beautiful way in which the game is played.

The evidence can be clearly made out in the 3 elemants of the game viz ie batting , bowling and fielding. A 20 20 batsman of today’s game does not give any importance to elegance and neatness as far as his batting strokes are concerned. The phrases like ” a stroke right out of the textbook ” are long forgotten. the main agenda of a 20 20 batsman is to score as many runs as possible in the shortest period of time , irrespective of how he scores them. As a result there is more of slog hitting , compared to the elegant batting seen in test cricket. The correct technique through which a batsman scores runs, for which the game was earlies identified , is not all recognised here. It is more or less a form of ”gully cricket” or ”time pass cricket”. importance is given to batsman who can swing his arms freely and can score maximum runs in limited deliveries over a relatively slow but experienced batsman who can keep a cool head under pressure and can win games. If this is followed over a long term, it can seriously affect the beauty of the game.

Another aspect which can clearly differentiate 20 20 cricket from test cricket is pressure. The 5 day format of the game is called ”test” cricket because it clearly tests your capabilities as a good batsman and overall as a good cricketer. A good batsman is not just someone who can score 50 runs off 20 balls by slog hitting, but someone who can spend long hours in the field , absorb the pressure, and intelligently, take the game to the opposition. even as far as bowling is concerned, bowling 20 odd overs a day for a period of two or more days is a real test.

Indeed, a team which finishes on top is recognised for its hard work and brilliance on the field for a period of 5 long days. whereas in 20 20 cricket, matches are played roughly over a period of 3 hours, where , ultimately, a player is tested only by his ability to hit the ball into the crowd for a period of 90 mins and not by his ability to play under intense pressure. This is definitely spoiling the beauty of the game . In 20 20 cricket one solid innings for a period of 90 mins filled with slog hits can change the entire game. whereas in test cricket, it is more or less the whole team, and not the individual whose performance makes the difference. Cricket lovers all over the world, and veterans of the game want to see a team come out of the shadows, show its strength and fight back in an insidious and dramatic way which is seen only in test cricket. So if 20 20 cricket is given more importance in the future, it will seriously affect the conventional form of the game.

Since 20 20 cricket is played only for 3 hours, it has evolved more into a form of entertainment or a business than a sport. The fact that 20 20 cricket has had a downfall can be clearly seen by the events in the recent past. The issues about the need for cheerleaders in the ipl, the apparent rift between the BCCI and the ipl chairman, the issues regarding the ownership of the ipl teams , is needlessly driving cricket-lover’s attention away for the original game. If such a format of the game is given more importance in the long run, the game of cricket is doomed for failure. The decreased fan following of this season’s ipl as evidenced by the empty stadiums clearly suggests its downfall.

Even in ODI cricket , though similar to the IPL, the merits can be clearly made out. Chennai super kings might have won the IPL and the champions trophy, but team India’s rise in ODI’s and tests has enormously increased the crowd support for the conventional form of the game, not just in India but in other parts of the world. whereas the IPL season 4 or ”entertainment cricket” which began just four days after India’s world cup win, was defined by empty stadiums and decreased fan following . the innings played by dhoni in the world cup final clearly proves the importance of responsible batting, which is rarely seen in the IPL.
hence, IPL has definitely been the revolution that cricket has needed in this era.. but over a long term , it can seriously harm the conventional form of the game

the contents in this article are solely based on individual opinion, any comments and suggestions are welcome :-)

2 Peter 3:8 And the End of the World

But forget not this one thing, beloved, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day (2 Peter 3:8).

Ever since Jesus promised that He would return there has been no lack of people who have trying to predict precisely when that will be. Most recently the group at “Family Radio” has made well-publicized and provocative claims that the time of judgment will begin on 21 May 2011 in the evening. They base this conclusion on Genesis 7:4, declaring that the seven days before the flood are parallel to the seven days before the judgment day, we are to understand from 2 Peter 3:8 that each day represents a thousand years, and voilĂ - 7,000 years would pass between the flood and the end of the world. They date the flood to 4990 BCE; hence, the world will end in 2011 CE.

They want to make this scheme look persuasive and Biblical, but they are not the first people who have attempted to make an equation out of 2 Peter 3:8. The Epistle of Barnabas, most likely written between 70 and 132 CE, attempted to say something similar on the basis of the creation in Genesis 1:1-2:3:

Give heed, children, what this meaneth; “He ended in six days.”
He meaneth this, that in six thousand years the Lord shall bring all things to an end; for the day with Him signifyeth a thousand years; and this He himself beareth me witness, saying; “Behold, the day of the Lord shall be as a thousand years.” Therefore, children, in six days, that is in six thousand years, everything shall come to an end.
“And He rested on the seventh day.”
This He meaneth: when His Son shall come, and shall abolish the time of the Lawless One, and shall judge the ungodly, and shall change the sun and the moon and the stars, then shall he truly rest on the seventh day (Epistle of Barnabas 15:4-5).

Even though the date of the creation is somewhat disputed, most chronological analyses (including the one by those behind “Family Radio”) place it more than 6,000 years ago, thus invalidating the claim of the Epistle of Barnabas. If this type of thinking was inaccurate regarding the days of Creation, why should we expect a prediction involving the seven days before the Flood in Genesis 7:4- a detail for which there is no explicit association with the judgment day, even in 2 Peter 3:1-13- to fare any better?

God’s judgment will come quickly upon this prediction. Nevertheless, the major methodological problem will remain: Peter never equates one day with a thousand years. He says that for the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years is as one day (2 Peter 3:8). Peter does not want anyone to think that God is “slow” in fulfilling His promises, and he does so by showing that time has no meaning to God. Two thousand years, to God, is no different than two days!

We know that the Lord will return when no one expects Him (1 Thessalonians 5:1-10). That, in and of itself, likely invalidates any expectation of His return on 21 May 2011. But let none be deceived: He will return. It may come before May 21, or it may come long afterward, so let us be prepared for His return at all times (Matthew 25:1-13)!

20 Best 'Glee' Prom Songs: 2010 Prom Songs for Gleeks

Here’s a great way to end your Senior year with a bang, Gleeks; hijack your 2010 prom with a playlist loaded with ‘Glee’ prom songs! From songs perfect for the obligatory prom slow dances to a wide variety of upbeat dance tunes, the songs from ‘Glee’ will make your 2010 prom an unforgettable one. So plan out a few perfect dance numbers to rule the school on the dance floor at your 2010 prom, and be sure to sing along to these great ‘Glee’ songs:

‘Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey – When it comes to songs from ‘Glee’, you can’t leave this one off your 2010 prom playlist! It makes a great teen anthem since it’s about holding on to your dreams, and it’s one everyone can sing along to at your 2010 prom. It may not be one of the best ‘Glee’ dance songs, but maybe it would be perfect for playing along with a cheesy prom slideshow.

‘Gold Digger’ by Kanye West – And here’s one of the best dance songs from ‘Glee’ to play at your 2010 prom for all the girls out there who are aspiring gold diggers. (Perhaps you can play it while the Prom Queen is being crowned?) It’s also one of the prom songs here that your chaperones may not appreciate, which makes it an even more fun ‘Glee’-ful choice.

‘Push It’ by Salt-n-Pepa – I love that ‘Glee’ is bringing back some of my favorite old school dance songs! Take a history lesson from the princesses of hip-hop with one of the best fun and fierce ‘Glee’ songs for your 2010 prom, and be sure to rehydrate with plenty of punch after this spicy tune makes you work up a sweat.

‘Take a Bow’ by Rihanna – And here’s one of the best 2010 prom songs from ‘Glee’ for dedicating to your ex, telling him to take a bow and step away from the dance floor. It’s not one of the most ‘Glee’-ful prom songs for 2010 on this list, but it is perfect for a jealousy-inducing slow dance.

‘Bust a Move’ by Young DMC – Here’s another of the best old school dance songs brought to you by ‘Glee’ and Young DMC, a classy tune that tells the fellas at your 2010 prom to quit being wallflowers and try to impress the ladies by bustin’ a move. When it comes to dance songs from ‘Glee’ perfect for playing at prom, they don’t get better than this hip hop classic.

‘Bootylicious’ by Destiny’s Child – If you’re feeling good in your prom dress, then this might be one of the best 2010 prom dance songs from ‘Glee’ for you. It’s pre-Sasha Fierce, so it lacks the edge of Beyonce’s later hits, but I think you and your Gleeky single ladies can handle it on the dance floor.

‘True Colors’ by Cyndi Lauper – This is definitely one of the sweetest songs from ‘Glee’ for your 2010 prom, and one that encourages everyone to let their true colors shine before they leave their high school world behind. It’s another of the many ‘Glee’ songs perfect for a slow dance to; just remember to enjoy your prom by being you.

‘Crazy in Love’ by Beyonce/’Hair’ from the musical – And here’s one of Beyonce’s earlier songs that she danced by herself to, and one that you’ll love getting crazy to out on the dance floor at your 2010 prom. Just be sure to combine your best ‘Glee’ and Beyonce moves to rule the dance floor when you go crazy to this new classic.

‘Don’t Make Me Over’ by Dionne Warwick – This is one of the older songs from ‘Glee’, but Gleeks will love slow dancing to the updated version of it at their 2010 prom. It’s also one of the best songs to play at your 2010 prom for convincing everyone to spend the rest of their high school days enjoying being themselves (after the pre-prom makeover, of course).

‘Mercy’ by Duffy – This is one of the ‘Glee’ songs that not everyone will know how to dance to at your 2010 prom, but you and your fellow Gleeks may be able to do quite a number with this one.

‘Can’t Fight this Feeling’ by REO Speedwagon – Here’s another of my favorite songs from ‘Glee’ to play at your 2010 prom for a slow dance. It’s a rock ballad full of romance, so at your 2010 prom, don’t fight that feeling anymore and get out on the dance floor.

‘Alone’ by Heart – This is one of the best 2010 prom songs for those trying to figure out how to get that special someone alone to tell them how they really feel before prom night is over. So if you want to feel a little giddy ‘Glee’ before the end of night, get the tough stuff out of the way by asking them to dance to this or one of the other slow dance songs on this list, and then move on to some happier songs to make your special prom night an emotional one to remember.

‘It’s My Life’ by Bon Jovi/’Confessions Part II’ by Usher – Usher in the end of your prom by celebrating the fact that you’ll soon to be free to do what you want with your life. This is another of the ‘Glee’ songs here that could be difficult to dance to, but nothing is wrong with a little headbanging at your 2010 prom.

‘Bust Your Windows’ by Jazmine Sullivan – Want to try to tango at your 2010 prom? With a bit of a sensual flare, this song is one of the best to try the show-stopping dance style to. It’s one of my favorite songs from ‘Glee’, but, of course, I’m not encouraging window busting on prom night.

‘No Air’ by Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown – This is one of the best 2010 prom dance songs to dedicate to that special girl or guy that leaves you breathless. And, as an added plus, if you play the ‘Glee’ version at prom, you don’t have to listen to Chris Brown sing this too-sweet-for-Beat-Her-Down song.

‘Endless Love’ by Lionel Richie and Diana Ross – Okay, so endless love is a pretty hardcore emotion for high school, but those into immortal vamps and ‘Glee’ can appreciate this eternal tune. It’s one of the best slow dance songs for dedicating to your guy or girl at your 2010 prom, and it’s always possible that you and your high school sweetheart could find endless love.

‘I’ll Stand by You’ by The Pretenders – Ah, thank you ‘Glee’ for taking one of the cheesiest songs of all time and making it fun. This is one of the best songs for a 2010 prom because it can apply to all your friends, letting your fellow Gleeks know that you’ll always be there to cheer them up with an extravagant song and dance number.

‘Thong Song’ by Sisqo – Here’s another of the songs from ‘Glee’ that the chaperones at your 2010 prom may not appreciate, but this ode to underwear is all in fun (and the ‘Glee’ version cuts out all the naughty bits).

‘Hate on Me’ by Jill Scott – ‘Hate on Me’ is another of the songs from ‘Glee’ that I love, and it’s a very empowering song to dance to. So “be who you be” and show those haters what you and your fellow Gleeks got on the dance floor at your 2010 prom.

Keep Holding On by Avril Lavigne – This isn’t one of my favorite songs, but I’m impressed that the ‘Glee’ cast made an Avril song tolerable. Plus it is another great song to share with your friends, as you hold onto to your last high school moments after your 2010 prom.

So get ready to Gleek out at your 2010 prom with these great ‘Glee’ songs, and really make those last dances ones to remember.

2 Ways to Profit from Your Own Blog

For personal blogs, one of the simplest and easiest ways for you to begin blogging for profit is to use one of the new web platforms. The reason for this is that they will not only host your personal blog, but you will also be part of a larger community of bloggers. Many of these blogging sites also offer you the ability to change your themes easily and to add different applications that will enhance your blogging experience. When you get your blog content to a standard that creates a lot of traffic, then you can consider the possibility of making money with blog content.

Here are a few ideas on how to make Google’s Adsense a useful tool to make money from your blog. The first thing not to do is put the Adsense block at the top of your post, unless you want your traffic to leave immediately or you have no interest in whether they read your blog or not. However, if your content is intended to draw in numerous readers, then it is important to place the Adsense block at the end of your post. In this way, even if your targeted website traffic does not use your content to make you money, then you at least have a chance for a cash payback if they click on relevant ads from Adsense.

Don’t forget that it is common for affiliate products and programs to offer from fifty percent to seventy five percent commissions. If you want to be blogging for profit, then look through affiliate products closely to find those selling for thirty dollars or more. Also try to find the highest commission payouts. If you are getting two hundred targeted website traffic visitors each day, and two percent convert on a thirty dollar product with a fifty percent commission, then this means you will make sixty dollars per day, which is eighteen hundred dollars per month from a relatively low traffic count. The potential of making money online with blog entries is incredible. Not only that, but your income will continue to grow as you bring in more and more targeted website traffic.

Both affiliate sales and Adsense represent very simple and basic ways to convert your blog writing into cash. If you are blogging for profit, then they are where you need to turn. It is also the method of professional internet marketers. If you start using them effectively, you too will see your blog make money.

It should seem self-evident, but when you start a blog, you need to blog about what you know. For those just starting out, one of the biggest mistakes you can make in this type of industry is to blog about topics about which you have no knowledge or have absolutely no interest in. It is ideal to blog about what you know about, and doing so will help to ensure that your blogging articles or reviews are bringing more and more traffic to your site. It also helps to keep people coming back if you are writing informative articles and are enthusiastic. If you want to blog for money, then these are a couple of tips you need to know.

After you set up your blog, you need to get massive blog traffic coming in. During this step, you should post to your blog several times a week with relevant content and then use a pinging service to ping each individual post. The site automatically pings every post, though does not. By posting as much as possible and pinging on a regular basis, you will soon begin to see traffic pick up, which makes your goal to blog for money that much easier to reach.

As you can see, blogging for profit can be quite simple and easy. The most difficult part of the process is just getting the blog setup and running smoothly. Once you are past that step, making money is as simple as posting content to your blog. If you post consistently, then you will eventually get more traffic, and the more traffic you get to your site, the more money you will make. It is just something that may take a little time to get started. In the end, a blog for money is a fabulous way to set your own hours, work from home and earn money while engaging in a stimulating activity.

2 ‘Secrets’ Every Job-Hunter Should Know

You have a resume since you’re looking for a job, right? And you shaved this morning and have your best smile on? Join the club because so does your competition. Either way, those are just pleasantries to get you in the door. To actually land the gig you need to meet one of two requirements-and not all of you do.

Ultimately, there are only two reasons to hire someone:

  • · Because they’ll make the company money, or
  • · They’ll make a moneymaker’s job easier.

That’s it, just those.

So what does all this mean for you? Well first off, you need to know which role you’re meant to fill. When you’ve got that figured out, understand what the boss expects from the person he hires.

  • · Moneymakers: If I’m going to put you on the payroll, I want to know you’re good at what you do. Can you program correctly, or install the door the right way? Re-doing work will cost us money and time. Mistakes cost us customers and money. Can you keep our clients happy? Salesmen: Can you sell? If we’ve got to wait three months for you to find your feet we’d rather go with someone else. Are you experienced; with a record of results? That’s what I’m looking for. Show me in everything you say and do that when I hire you my company will make more money.
  • · Assistants: You’ll be helping someone who makes us money. Every minute he spends looking up figures, or writing reports, or getting coffee he isn’t being the right kind of productive. Can you do those tasks to free up his time? Can you do them efficiently? Most importantly, can you do them before we ask you to? That’s what I’m looking for. This group includes secretaries, managers, and CEO’s.

So spend a minute and think back to your last interview. Remember the questions they asked and the answers you gave. Do you see how the point was to see if you could fill your role? Did you emphasize your ability to do it?

But this ‘secret’ isn’t some video game cheat where once you learn the combination you’ll get a job; a skilled interviewer can tell if you’re faking it. If you haven’t the skill or desire to fit one of the two roles, you’ve got a tough row to hoe.

Most often it takes deciding that you WANT to help the company; then striving to make it happen. If you only want to collect a paycheck and skate by, you may get a job but you won’t be happy-and you won’t keep it. This time next year you’ll be interviewing again.

Understand your role. And if you’re qualified, be sure that the way you present yourself reflects the person we’re looking for: A happy and willing partner who’s an asset to our company.

20 Books to Prepare You for High School

The school year is coming up fast. For thousands upon thousands of students it means they are walking into those hallowed halls as freshmeat, um, I mean freshman. High school is a whole new world. How can they fully prepare themselves for it? Here are twenty books that these freshmen should be reading before they walk into their new life of fun, adventure, and teenage drama. Not every school will be reading these books their freshmen year or maybe any of their four years of high school, but they are great books that should be read that can give them a wider mind and enable to prepare for the books that they will be required to read.

The Last of the Mohicans by James Fenimore Cooper – A story of two cultures and multiple nations colliding. As war rages around them, the very last of the Mohican tribe try to survive, but time marches on. Love, death, and life swirl around the people who only want to continue on but are dragged into the bloodshed of the French and Indian war. A classic American tale that reveals the hearts of the Native American, the French, and the English as well as the American colonist.

Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien – If you have seen the epic movies, you have only seen part of the story. These stories go much further than was displayed on the big screen. Read how four young hobbits mature into men of the world through near death experiences, the loss of friends, tough decisions, and leaving home to face the unknown evil that hunts them down. Meet wonderful characters such as Tom Bombadil who explains so much more of this fantasy world. You will get a great read out of this as you see what modern classic writing is all about.

Great Expectations by Charles Dickens – A story of a young man with a mysterious benefactor. He thinks he knows who it is and as he tries to show his appreciation falls in love though it seems that the love is unreturned. Follow a young boy who becomes a man and learns what it is like to be loved and to love.

The Odyssey by Homer – You cannot get more classic than this book. Read how one man’s journey home after the Trojan War gets blown way off course. As his wife is shrewdly holding off the suitors who are trying to claim her hand, a soldier fights against mythological creatures that are determined to claim him. Just when you think his journey is over in truth it is just beginning.

The Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Crane – Get a glimpse into what it was like to fight your own countrymen and face death every second of every day. Watching the man next to you take a musketball and the man you ate breakfast fall dead is not something any young man should see, but many did see regularly during the American Civil War.

Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare – Open these pages to understand why Antony says “Friends, Romans, Countrymen, lend me your ears.” A tell of intrigue and murder that would change the world forever. If only Caesar had listened to his wife and stayed home that fateful day.

The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway – A beautiful tale of an old man who has lived his life from the sea and will see the greatest adventure one could have. Take a ride with this man who catches the big one that did not quite get away.

The Call of the Wild by Jack London – Take an adventure into Alaska during the Gold Rush and see how man and nature interact.

The Adventures of Huck Finn by Mark Twain – Discover what true adventures are like. Know what it means to take a chance and really live. Follow Huckleberry Finn on his adventures and discover the wonderful characters he encounters.

Gulliver’s Travels by Jonathan Swift – Explore a world of fantasy like no other. Meet teeny tiny people who are not afraid of any giant. Discover floating islands that reveal so much more. Go with Gulliver on his travels and meet amazing characters.

Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson – Treasure. Pirates. What more could a good story ask for. Before there were ever Pirates of the Caribbean there were the men who are the heart and soul of Treasure Island. Find an adventure like never before.

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley – Don’t underestimate the women authors of centuries ago. This chilling tale is known the world over and has been the basis of hundreds if not thousands of movies and other stories. Read the story of one “mad” scientist and his experiment in creating life.

The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allen Poe – You will find no witches, warlocks, or demons in this book, yet you will find nowhere as much terror and suspense as this story can bring. The conscience can be more powerful than any force in all the worlds. See how one man’s horrific act is his downfall.

The Swiss Family Robinson by Johann D. Wyss – A voyage to a new land gives one family more than they bargained for. Go with a family shipwrecked on a deserted island where they find new friends in man and beast and have a few run ins with dastardly pirates. What starts off as tragedy turns into a wonderland.

The Diary of Anne Frank by Anne Frank – Most of us do not know what it is like to have one little bitty noise be the reason for our death. Read the own words of a young Jewish girl who has to hide with family and friends so that the Nazi’s do not kill them. Hiding behind walls and being more quiet than a mouse is the only way to survive. If they can do it.

Watership Down by Richard Adams – Talking rabbits? You’ve seen stranger things. Meet the family of rabbits threatened by development. But you will also see that threats do not always occur where you think they should.

Timeline by Michael Crichton – Here is the most contemporary of books in this list. What if you could travel back in time to historic moments? What if that very act changed every step you make right now? Meet archeologists who are uncovering an historic battle. As they are removing the dirt, the very items under the dirt are changing as men of today are going back and tampering with history. Action packed you will find this book and not want to put it down once you start. Not even the movie could do it justice.

Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell – The world is way different (or is it?) from we know now. The government controls everything and everyone. Visit a world that many think we are headed for right now.

Mutiny on the Bounty by Charles Nordhoff and James Norman Hall – Things do not always go smooth at sea especially when your crew decides they do not want you as captain. With claims of cruelty, the crew takes over the Bounty and have to face the music.

Black Beauty by Anna Sewell – Who doesn’t love a horse story? Read this one and discover how a horse can steal your heart. Even that of a teenager.

This is just a short list of the many books that your young person should read and experience. There is so much adventure within these pages to put Hollywood to shame. Open a book and enjoy the ride.

20 Facts About Asperger's Syndrome in Children

Understanding the implications of Asperger’s Syndrome can bring a greater level of tolerance and acceptance for those with the condition. Here are some traits and behavior patterns commonly seen in the syndrome.

  • Most people with Asperger’s Syndrome are of average or above average intelligence.
  • They have excellent thinking skills where things are concerned but are extremely poor at interpreting human relationships.
  • Intense preoccupations often centre on certain toys or areas of interest. Common obsessions are dinosaurs and forms of transport and how they work.
  • They will often seek out other people to talk to about their interests. The conversation is usually one-sided – more like a lecture where they talk about their knowledge and aren’t interested in feedback.
  • Older children may enjoy a club that is focused on their interest – for example, coin or stamp collecting.
  • Eye contact is not understood or made use of.
  • The child may appear cold and uncaring but it is not deliberate. He does not think about others and cannot understand the social graces that keep society functioning.
  • It is possible to teach social skills but it is a long slow process and often requires parental intervention to repair social damage when they act inappropriately.
  • Short stories can be useful in teaching social skills. Use one page visual aids that teach about listening to others and keeping quiet and still while they talk.
  • Children with Asperger’s Syndrome prefer routine and structure and can become irritable and distressed if the unexpected happens.
  • Gross and fine motor skills are often underdeveloped, causing problems in sports and balance.
  • Asperger’s Syndrome is often detected when a child starts preschool. He will generally interact better with his teacher than his peers and may display silly, loud, aggressive or socially withdrawn behaviour.
  • Things are interpreted very literally, meaning that sarcasm, playful teasing and figures of speech are not understood.
  • Rules are very important and a child may become angry if a game is not played fairly or his peers break school rules.
  • On a positive note, this aversion to rule-breaking means the Asperger’s Syndrome child is less likely to experiment with smoking, drinking, drugs, and sex as he matures.
  • Many children are perfectionists and struggle if they fail to produce perfect schoolwork. Encourage them to move on, and create distractions if necessary to get them to continue working.
  • They find it hard to generalize. If taught that they shouldn’t hit a child at school, they do not automatically make the connection that they shouldn’t hit a child in the mall.
  • Children with Asperger’s Syndrome express their feelings in unpredictable ways. Sometimes they may seem emotionless and other times they may display extreme emotion that is not appropriate to the situation.
  • Interrupting conversations is a common problem as the child does not understand the social signals that allow conversation to move from one to another.
  • A child can be helped if parents consistently work with him and highlight his strengths and work consistently on his weaknesses

There is hope for children who have Asperger’s Syndrome and with training and support from their family and health professionals, they can live meaningful, productive lives.

20 Bible Verses About the Poor (Or is it More About Us?)

The Bible maintains a clear position on the poor throughout its pages, and, interestingly, it has less to do with them than it has to do with us. While many “believers” continue to employ excuses or reasons that attempt to justify not giving to the less fortunate, there’s no escaping the prescription that God gives to this societal injustice; we need to help them. Rather than incessantly questioning how a good God could possibly allow poor individuals to continue in poverty, why don’t we take it upon ourselves and help in whatever way we can? Although these Bible verse about the poor are obviously removed from their original context, I am not advocating study that neglects exegetical work.
